whether you chose to go ahead with the shots or not, do you recall the shots you pediatrician recommended/gave your child? I'm just wanting to do a little research. I hear a lot about "too many" shots being given at once and stressing baby's system... popping in from May Playroom.

Thanks!

Do you not get a health care booklet that lets you know what shots are being given at certain months? You can also check online to see what shots are given at what month.

When we went for our 2 month shots, the gave me info pamphlets to look over and sign for each shot she'd be getting that day. The doctor was also willing to answer any questions I had. There is all sorts of info and opinions on websites of you google it... so just be cautious in what you let sway you online.
Good luck!

at our ped, they give you a paper that lists all shots being offered and you have to initial by each one giving permission (or not initial if you do not give permission) and you keep the paper as a record.

I discussed shots thoroughly this time around with our dr. We did 3 shots ( I'll have to see which ones) but I discussed concerns about a few and she said we could wait and hold off on some and do them at later appointments.

I think the key is communication with your dr. Don't leave without discussing concerns and don't let her or the stuff you find on the Internet make the decision for you.

hmmm - he got the same things at both 2 mo. and 4 mo. One was the oral vaccine for Rotavirus - DS loved this one both times -- licked his lips for more LOL!

And he got two shots - one in each thigh. One was definitely HIB and one was DTap - there may have been others combined with them. I used my doctors' recommendation....but I feel strongly about vaccinating for all of the "main ones"...you've got to have a discussion with your doctor about pros v. cons to make your decision.

My son did great at both 2 mo. and 4 mo. vaccine appointments...no side effects and he was smiling again within a minute of them.
