But I have a question about Archer. Tonight Dh scared him a little and he cried for a bit about it.... nothing MAJOR, but prolonged for a few minutes. Then he finally stopped and Perrin threw a toy which of course hit him in the forehead and the crying started up again. That time I noticed that his voice sounded very hoarse. Like he was losing it or something, but I have never seen a baby lose their voice over a little crying so thought I would check to see what you guys thought too. He seems fine in every other way, happy, laughing (though it comes out so sad sounding) and doing whatever else. I just worry a tiny bit that maybe it's a breathing thing?

Jace sounds like that if he's been crying for a while. Or if he cried, calmed down and cried again. I think it sounds worse that it is, though. It's the only time I've heard that hoarse sound from him.

Do you hear it at any other times?

Jason has a slight cold right now and he sounds hoarse when he cries. He has done this once before when he wasn't sick and I think it was because he is usually a pretty quiet guy and that day he happened to talk a lot and cry a lot. SO maybe he used all his voice.

Marissa sounds like this every once in a while. And its not a thing like she was crying for a long time and then got hoarse. She rarely cries and thats why I could never figure it out, how do you get hoarse without "talking" a lot? Then she had a cold, but wasn't hoarse really at all while she had the cold... It just happens randomly here!

As long as he isn't breathing fast, sucking in at the ribs, and lips are nice and pink, his breathing should be fine (can you tell I'm a NICU mom x2? ) Logan has this cry when something hurts her and it's a hoarse, raspy cry.
