So we went the zoo and my hubby pointed out that most of the little girls he saw had their ears pierced and said maybe we should get Kenna's ears pierced now when she is young. He was kind of against it before.

Any of you get you LO's ears pierced yet? Planning too?

Ha! I need to get my ears pierced first. I think I'm the last female on planet earth who hasn't. As a kid I was always too much of a scaredy cat to do it, then I thought it was kind of cool that I was different that way, but last birthday my dh got me a beautiful set of sapphire/diamond earings and they are still sitting in the box. I'd love to get them done, but don't really know where to do it. The piercing pagodas at the mall always seem to have a teenager behind the counter, and I don't really trust teenagers with sharp objects. Ok, that was OT, but oh well. And I don't think I'll be piercing Luke's ears. :-)

I thought about it after she was born, but decided that I want to wait until she is older. I figure if we wait until she is 3 or 4 then we can make a mommy and me day out of it

It's really not that bad girl. Mine are slightly uneven probably from a teenage girl behind the counter when I was young. But honestly its over before you even have time to think about it!!!

I had to chuckle that your hubby got you a pair of earings and your ears arent pierced...Hope they came with a neclace or something

Nah, my dh bought them because I told him I was going to get them pierced for my birthday last year, but then I got the worst case of poison ivy ever and then I was preggers and was just a tad bit worried I'd get them pierced and then get some kind of infection or something and not be able to take an antibiotic. But now that I've had a baby with no drugs, I'm like bring it on. Now I just need to find the right place to do it! :-)

Yup...Paisley got her's pierced about 4 weeks ago. She only cried for a second and then it was over. I just kept turning them and putting the solution on them and they were completely fine. She doesn't pull on them or even acknowledge that they are there. I'm very happy with my decision to get them done and she looks so cute!

Addison got her eyes pierced at about 2 months...she cried for about 3 seconds & she never really notices them. I don't regret it at all!!

With Linz I wanted to wait until she was older. HOwever spur of the moment when she was 4 months old we did it. It was the best thing. She was so oblivious to them so we had no issues with pulling, tugging, swelling, bleeding or keeping them clean. My SIL is about to pierce my 18 month old nieces ears but everytime she takes her she screams and throws a fit. It just confirmed that I will take Logan in the next month or so!!!

You, and my 23 year old sister. I can't wait to tell her she isn't the only person in the world.

I'm planning to wait until Daphne is 12 or so and begging me to get her ears pierced so that I can let her do it and be the nicest mommy ever for the day. I have the same logic about getting a dog.

P.S. Paisley looks ADORABLE.

I really want to do it now. . . But DH is on the fence. He wants to wait until she's old enough to have a say in the matter. I figured if we do it now, she won't notice and tug at them, ect. . . And if she's older & decides she doesn't want to wear earings, she doesn't have to. I have both ears pierced twice - And I only wear earings on special occasions. I like having that option.

I'm still undecided. I had my pierced at around maybe 2-3 yrs old because I kept trying to stick my mom's earrings inside my ears. Then I ended up taking one of them out and swallowing it. I'm wondering if maybe if we did it when she was young then she wouldn't even notice them as she got more into the toddler age or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

I had my daughter's done when she was 8 months. She never had any issues with them, never bothered them, etc. We had them done at Claire's at the mall, but I'll be honest...we checked to see who was working and decided she looked old enough to know what she was doing! Actually, two ladies did them--one on each side so that it was at the same time.

Haven't done it, and not planning on doing it any time soon. I want to wait for her to be old enough to ask and to take care of them herself.

I've thought about it with Nora, but we decided to wait until the girls can ask for it and take care of them themselves. I want to make it a mommy and me day, too

I just love it how you all can give such respecful feedback and opinions!

I'm so glad I don't have a little girl, because I would be on the fence about a good time to get them pierced. You have them done when they're babies, and they forget all about the pain, etc. You wait, and you can see if they even want them or not. I do think little ears that are pierced is so cute!

I had my daughter's done at age 3. She was old enough to tell me she wanted them but young enough to forget getting them done, lol. She only cried for a few minutes and was fine immediately after. She's 6 1/2 now and has never had any problems messing with them or had an infection. Dh made sure I did NOT do it as a baby because he wanted her to actually ask for them and not take it in our own hands to assume she did.
