I'd really like to start storing up some things in the freezer to make things as smooth as possible before baby comes. Somebody awhile back had some good resources and suggestions, can anyone help me out? Or would you just like to share a good freezable recipe!!??

DH and I were just talking about this. We eat a lot of pasta, so I'm going to make a bunch of that (chicken alfredo freezes really well as does stuffed shells). He also likes chili, so I'll make and freeze some batches of that. I'll probably also make the filling for chicken pot pie and freeze that -- then, when I want to make it, all I have to do is put it in a ready made pie crust and bake. It's not fancy food, but it'll do when I haven't slept in three days and cannot stomach another frozen pizza or can of soup.

I like the idea of doing filling for the pot pie Amy. I know, I started out searching for casseroles that are healthier and perhaps more exotic...but considering the condition we will be in I bet a good 'ol lasagna or chicken casserole will be quite comforting!

If you are planning to BF, you may not want to try things with lots of spices. Some babies' tummies are easily irritated. I had to avoid onion, garlic, and chocolate with my guys otherwise they got terribly painful gas.

So far I've made:

- penne rose pasta with onions, garlic and mushrooms and some cheese (3 bags of 1 1/2 portions each)

- a penne veggie pasta with onions, garlic, mushrooms, red & yellow peppers, tomato sauce and cheese
I added a little milk as well (2 bags of 1 1/2 portions each)

- a veggie tomato sauce for my lasagna which will be assembled later tonight and frozen

I still plan to make:

- a scallapped potato thing (with mushroom soup, mushrooms and cheese)

- a veggie Sheapards pie topped with creamy garlic mashed potatoes

- bean,cheese and veggie burritos

I'm really hoping that what I've made so far won't be a bother to him. I didn't add to many onions and garlic though. I'll try and make a few things with out them as well.

Holy crap I'm so unprepared. I was just gonna eat peppermint candies and crap from sonic.

I was thinking to get lasagna...but you're right about their tummies...if i ate broccoli with my son he farted and screamed all night.

Hmmm...maybe I will stick with crackers.

Wow Amy all that over Sonic? I live in a town of 6000 people and pass FOUR of them on my way to Walmart... they are everywhere here.

You know where I love?? Ruby's cafe. It's a chain, old fashion cafe, with the yummiest milkshakes. They have one close to Seattle, and I looked and they have one by disneyland too LOL
