Your room/birth center that is...

Our hospital are ALL private rooms. THANK GOD! But I wonder how much noise there will be because of ALL the Aug/Sept babies due (some going early, some going late) ... how busy will they be when it's my turn? I'm guessing VERY busy... so also VERY noisy

I'm going to talk to my OB today about this... how busy does she really think it will be?Hmmm... I'm just thankful we get our own room, no matter what! (another reason why, if medically needed, an induction would be favorable if my body's already primed like it was with DD, because you are almost guaranteed a room without problems).

The women's center is a separate building from the hospital and they are all private rooms.

Private room, but they always put C-section patients near the nurses station, and I remember it being a little noisy! My husband complained about the noise, so they brought me a sleeping pill.

I visited a lady I knew in a hospital in Canada back in 2004. I was shocked that she was sharing a room! Trust me ladies, you do not want government run health care! Might be too late.

You know I have no clue. In fact the last time i went to the doctor they told me that the births do not happen at the hospital any longer and they are now across town. WTH... good thing that they let me know.

Hmmmm......the birthing rooms are private but it doesn't specifically say if the postpartum rooms are. One more question to add to the list for next Monday's appt!

All private rooms-L&D is a separate wing from the Mother/Baby wing so they move you about an hour after you give birth.

We have our L&D Rooms that are behind locked doors and then the Post Partem Wing --- all of those rooms are private... Wasn't too bad when I was here last time having DD...

The birthing center is small and has just two private suites, they are meant to make you feel like you are at home; queen sized bed, soft lighting, stereo, art on the walls. I'm so excited to have my baby there!

I know that the birthing rooms are private but I don't know about the pp rooms. I hope they are private. I remember where I used to live that the hospital had private birthing rooms which were gorgeous (newly remodeled building) but then the post-partum rooms could have up to 4 people per room (depended on your insurance). Can you imagine? 4 pp women, babies, spouses? That would be a nightmare.

I'm confused. It says they have labor-delivery-recovery all in one room with no nursery except the NICU but how in the world can you have that and NOT have all private rooms? It sounds like if I don't get a private room (which I believe we'll be doing but still) then I could be trying to sleep after delivering and the woman next to me could trying to feed a screaming baby!!

I'll definitely be scheduling the hospital tour sooner than later...

All private rooms. They are all in one rooms, labor, birthing, pp, etc.

I just had my tour Monday. All the rooms are private. And there's no seperate L&D and Mom/Baby... it's all on the same floor... 23 rooms total. And they were not busy at all... most of the rooms were empty so let's hope it's like that when I deliver!

all rooms are private b/c they do coupling care -- the 'nursery' is only for c-section mommies babies when the mama's are in initial recovery from the surgery

Birthing rooms are private, but the PP room are shared. It's awful! With my son I had to share a room with 2 other women and one of the babies cried non stop, so it was impossible to get any sleep. I left the hospital the night after I had my c-section. I just couldn't take it anymore.

All of our labor rooms are private...and about 2/3 of the postpartum rooms are as well. Then they fill the double rooms last, and one at a time, so unless they're super busy, they say that you have a really good chance of getting a private room for postpartum as well.
