i don't get U/S after 18 weeks unless they think something is wrong.... i guess as long as nothing too terrible happens they assume all is good!

My midwife told me they start doing the cervical checks when they do the GBS swap (so around 35-36 weeks).

Good question! Alot of ladies on some other boards are already being checked. I am almost 33 weeks (tomorrow) and no checks. Not sure I'll be checked until later though. I definitely have a passive doctor.

I was first checked at 30 weeks. This sounds quite early comparing to what I am seeing here.

I believe my docs start at 36 weeks, but I think I'm going to askto skip them. I find them very uncomfy and all they ever tell me is that the shop is locked up tight.

I asked this a couple days ago. I went in for my appointment yesterday, and I did not get checked. I am 33/34 weeks, I can't remember. I did get too see her though. She had her arm on her head. It was a "whoa is me" kind of look. Too cute.

If I remember correctly, my doctor started cervix checks at 36 weeks. I'm guessing I will probably get my first cervix check at my appointment next week. I will be 35 weeks.

I had mine checked last Thursday cause I asked him if he would. It felt like she was going to fall out!

He did tell me that they will start doing regular checks starting when I go in every week...starting at 36 weeks.

I dont think I was ever checked until labor had started..........with any of my 4! If everything feels "right" and no contractions, I would think there is no need for them until the very end, maybe 38-39wks?

Mine starts checking at the group B strep test, which happens at my next appointment at 35 weeks, then I'm off to 1/week appointments after that. I like hearing about how far I'm dilated and effacement, because with me, it does progress, and I never remember it hurting... I'm actually looking to next appointment in 2 weeks because she'll get a better idea of whether he's flipped (and if she can't tell, I think we'll try to sneak in a quick u/s peek to see how he's laying.

I never had my cervix checked with #1.. (until I was in labour at the hospital anyway lol) I had it checked regularly at the hospital this time around... but only when necessary (when I'd had bleeding/contractions etc)
I don't think they do it at prenatal appointments around here, unless you're overdue and are having a membrane sweep
