I've been having that myself. I'm not a dainty person by no means but I have noticed the back pain more with this pregnancy than the others. Mainly I try not to sit or stand to long. And hot showers work great. (I would love a bath but can't get myself out once I'm in ) Also a birthing ball might help, my sis swears by it, I'm waiting for her to bring one so I can try it.

Poor Anna! Try some hot showers -- I do that when my back is acting up. Also, are you wearing comfy, supportive shoes? I've learned that cheap flip-flops just aren't worth it anymore as they make me feel worse. You could also see if Adam or Beth will rub your back with a tennis ball -- that's supposed to help too (so says our childbirth educator).

I bet some of it is the extra weight and its location -- my majority of my baby weight gain is sitting right in my belly, which is causing pain on my lower back and butt. I can handle that -- I just can't take the combo hip/butt pain (as I've been in tears begging my unborn daughter to move away from my hip!).

Hope you feel better soon!

Anna...I have been having major back pain for a few weeks now, too. When I was in L&D last week, they gave me a heating pad for it (and let me bring it home!!), and that heating pad worked miracles!! I hadn't been able to find anything to help until that point, but it was amazing. Also, I've heard that pregnancy cradles or belts can help support the weight of your belly and take some of the stress off your back, so that might be worth a try as well! Sorry about the pain I hope that you find something that helps!

sorry your back pain is so bad. I was try the shower or bath idea. That always seems to help me. I hope it starts feeling better soon...even though i have a feeling having lovebug will be the only thing that will really get rid of your back pain

Sorry you are in pain Anna.. I think a walk is a good idea. Hot showers and warm baths would help. How about getting a massage? Feel better soon!

I'm sorry Anna! Yes, warm showers/bath, heating pad, back rub with lotion, you could also use something like "tiger balm" "moneky blam" or "icey/hot balm/cream" - those help me when my muscles are really hurting. I hope your back feels better soon!
