that the doctor want me to get induced. I'll be exactly 39 weeks then. I'm not too happy with the date because I think that Eric died around 38 weeks and 2-3 days last year. So if I'm to be induced, I'd like it to be no later than 38 weeks. He still insists that he would need a medical reason to do it before 39 weeks. I also think that he wants to go on vacation before and for Labor Day (he likes to be away on holidays) and because he was looking at the calendar for a while yesterday during my appointment. I just hope I'll be able to convince him and he'll change his mind and will do it around September 1st.
Here's to hoping he'll change his mind! I'd definitely be pulling for the 38th week, too. What other kind of medical history does he need?!
I think this is an AMA thing because my doc said that they are not allowed to induce for non-medical purposes prior to 39th week, which is fine for me and her (she's not induction happy) but for people who have history like yours, holy cow, come on! ONe week could bring a great deal of peace to mind and baby's lungs would probably still be quite mature to manage without assistance.
Keep working on him!

(((HUGS))) I'm sorry he won't do it sooner - maybe baby will just come sooner. And you could always start things like Evening primrose oil, pumping for nipple stimulation, black and blue cohosh etc sooner so that it helps your body maybe go into labor sooner. I know how scary this last trimester is - i get worried about every-other hour. I'm really surprised that he won't induce sooner given the situation....anxiety, stress along with your loss are all medical reasons. Sending you lots of hugs mama!!
Thank you, girls. According to my doctor, last's year stillbirth is just a "poor ob history" and does not qualify for a medical reason. I don't know who makesthese rules. Under the law, he says, he could induce me at 39 weeks but not earlier unless they do amnio and it shows that the baby's lungs are mature. He is very reluctant to do amnio though. They also ran some tests last week, and determined that I have low protein S, so I got put on a daily Lovenox injections as a precaution since I have no blood clotting history and they never checked my levels pre-pregnancy. So even the low protein level is not good enough for a medical reason. Thanks for the tips, Alethia, I will try them around 37 weeks.
Sorry he's not being more cooperative, but he may not have a lot of say in it if he has to follow certin guidelines. I can't believe that your history doesn't count as a medical reason though. Hoping that you'll go into labor on your own before then!
