It was soo much more fun the first time around when I got to pick out cute baby stuff, decorate the nursery, etc. This time...well, no fun nursery to decorate, don't need any new fun baby stuff. So, the boring stuff has to be done. Like boil and sanitize breast pump parts, bottles, bottle pieces, yay, fun yippee. And I just got done typing the thing I have been putting off for 2 months now: Owen's daily schedule. Doesn't sound that bad unless you know his routine. He is a 'feeding kid' so he gets 3 meds a day which all have to be written in detail so my parents know when to give him each, how to give them so he doesn't gag on them, etc. I also had to type a detailed food list of what he can and can't eat. THEN there are his sleeping battles/issues to deal with. So I had to write a detailed bed routine list for them so they can get him to sleep without puke happening. It really took almost his whole 2 hour nap to get this done, but I am so relieved that if I go into labor anytime soon, at least he is covered on paper now! Watch, he will totally change his whole routine before September and I will have to re-type it. Ugh.

You got a LOT done, so celebrate (even though it's not as fun as getting the cool stuff together like nursery and so forth...) I hope Owen stays with his routine and you are good to go on that front.

I haven't even begun to do the bottle sanitizing or any of that. I need to sanitize the breast pump stuff, I guess that should be on my list. I 'm not worried about the bottle stuff yet because we try to not give bottles until at least 8 weeks for fear of nipple confusion (Kensley had a hard time BF in the beginning, so we just stuck with that and will do the same here), then at 8 weeks, if he's nursing like a champ, we'll slowly introduce the bottle and let DD and DH feed him pumped milk once a day or so. How fun!!! DD will be so thrilled to do that

You sound like you are about ready! THat's got to be a great feeling

At least it is one more thing that you can check off your list of things to do before baby arrives!

That is a good plan Gwynne! That is what I intended to do with Owen. I unfortunately had a LOT of issues with Owen BF, so I am preparing the bottles just in case the same thing happens and we have to switch to pumping/supplementing sooner than we want. I really really REALLY hope to be able to BF for 12 months, but with Owen he just could never do it so we made it 3 months before it all went out the window. He still has feeding probs so I guess I have made peace with it, that it wasn't meant to be back then. I just want the breast pump/bottle situation all ready in case I get in the same situation again!

glad you got the paper work done... that would not have been a fun item to cross off the list but i am sure the relief of it being done makes it worth it!!

You're definitely making a lot of progress! I'm scared to sit down and make a to-do list -- I'm afraid of all the things I still have left to do!

While it isn't fun, at least now it's done and over and out of the way! Hoping Owen works with you and decides to keep his schedule so you don't have to retype it!
