I know a lot of L&D's get super busy around the full moon. Do you think it's real or a hoax?

Here are the full moon run that will effect the Sept DDC and when they begin approximately (times are universal, meaning the moon starts the same time in every time zone.) Dates and Times of Full Moons | Farmers' Almanac

August 24th 1:05 PM
September 23rd 5:17 AM

It actually does sound correct to me, since
1 some will deliver 2-3 weeks before OR after their EDD.
2 some women tend to deliver 'mid cycle' most like ovulation

Now based off you EDD, how do you think this will effect you?

I'm glad I am having my c-section on Sept 22nd, lol, to beat the rush. There better not be any emergencies that morning!

lol wanna 'reserve' your full moon delivery?

I've worked ER before, and I'll say it increases business like crazy! Plus, every wacko weirdness happens then! I wouldn't be surprised if it influenced delivery at least a bit.

I'm due Sept 24th, so it's a possibility for me to deliver on the 23rd.

That's 5 days after my due date so I really hope not, lol. But I do know its oh so true in mental health (and now even in customer service) to the point where workers dread full moon days and previously I'd scheduled days off based on full moon because I knew it would be crazy (literally).

Kara... I did the same thing. We'd rather work Christmas eve with clients (in mental health) than on full moon nights!!

I hope it doesn't impact me in the slightest. August is toooo early for me (it's after 37 weeks, but not quite 38, and I just won't be ready!) and September's is WAY too late!

I'm due Sept 24 .... DH thinks she'll come Sept 23 because of the equinox plus full moon combination. (Also, he was born on Sept 23 the year it was the equinox and full moon combo.)

Hopefully it won't be too crazy!

Well, I thought I was going into labor yesterday.........so that is weird, I see it was a full moon! I was driving home from church, well riding home, and was having the worst, most painful contractions. It was nuts!! Came home, laid down and fell asleep immediately, for 2.5 hrs, and felt fine when I woke up!! WEIRD!!

Oh weird. I didn't realize it was a full moon. I was having a lot of pain yesterday too that I just didn't understand. Felt back pain and like I needed to go to the bathroom. I wonder if it was weird contractions or something?

August 24th would be GREAT for me. I'd be right at 39 weeks so I think that the baby should be ready to go.

Oh my, I don't remember this being the case but it looks like Avery was born on a full moon. She was due November 3rd and born October 26th at 4:25am.

August 24th would be fine for me though. I would be 39 + weeks then.

I believe it! My labor started with Isaac on the night of the Flowering Moon in 2008 - the last full moon before the summer solstice, when the earth was at it's 'peak' fertility. Interesting that the Sept. full moon is right around my due date again... we'll see what happens!
