About a week ago, I started getting these itchy bumps on my stomach and I thought I was getting bug bites or something overnight. Well, as I switched to 34 weeks today, I was on babycenter reading about my baby and stuff and read this:

If you notice itchy red bumps or welts on your belly and possibly your thighs and buttocks as well, you may have a condition called pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP for short). Up to one percent of pregnant women develop PUPPP, which is harmless but can be quite uncomfortable.
I have heard of it before but would have never remembered it. I hope this isn't going to last the rest of my pregnancy. It's not fun to be so itchy! Anyone else suffering from it?

I am not, but my best friend did her pregnancy. She was miserable too and (I hate to be the bearer of bad news) it lasted the rest of her pregnancy. She said hot showers felt good, but it was only for a moment b/c as soon as she stepped out it itched again. I am sorry! I hope you find some relief soon.
Thank you Alethia for my awesome siggy!

Are you sure it's not heat rash?

I'm itchy all the time but I have both psoriasis and excema. Past few weeks ago, I added bug bites, razor burn, and heat rash to the mix. My legs are healing now but pretty much trashed.

Try some Cortizone cream hun or the Benedryl stuff.

Sorry about the itchiness, that does not sound pleasant!

How is the swelling?

If it is localized to your stretch marks and stomach area, then yes it is definitely PUPPP! I'm sorry about the itchiness.
My SIL had this, but hers started at like 24 weeks!! It is like PIH or Pre-E in that it doesn't resolve itself until delivery. Her doctor told her to take half a Benadryl every night.
I hope you find something that helps!
