I am so glad I went in and got some answers after getting the call Friday night that my FFN test came back positive with a 50% chance of delivery within 2 weeks.

I have a growth u/s scheduled for 1:00 tomorrow. Yay! I am dying to know what he weighs. She said I will have another one in 4 weeks.

After the appointment I was sent to L&D for monitoring. I was given the first steroid shot to mature my little guys lungs. I go back tomorrow at 4:30 for the final one. Man that HURT! It also made me feel like 100% crap right away. I was wishing I didn't go by myself because driving home was not fun. I was texting a JM buddy and found out this shot has lots of fun little side effects that my doc of course failed to mention when she came in to talk to me. I am very happy they did the steroids and any side effect is totally worth it in the end. I feel much better about the positive FFN test knowing we are now doing everything possible to give this little man a great start if he decides to make his appearance early.

I only had one contraction while on the monitors for over an hour.

My blood pressure is normal

The nurse said they will do weekly stress tests now at the hospital. She tends to say stuff like that though and then the doctor overrides her, so we will see.

I am closed and cervix is still thick. Double YAY!

I think that about sums it up. After the u/s and second shot tomorrow my next appointment is Thursday with the doc.

Good news!! I would have freaked over the weekend too if I was told my fFN came back positive. Hopefully it was just a little scare. Maybe you'll actually end up having a September baby instead of going overdue (I remember you saying that a while ago!)

Thank you *Kiliki* for my siggy!

VERY GOOD NEWS!!! I'm so glad that they gave you a steroid shot just in case! I'm sure that gives you a little ease of mind - i know it would for me. I'm glad that they're watching you closely!! Keep baking baby!!! and rest up mama! I'm so glad too that you're cervix is still thick and closed. You are so close!

All of that is GREAT news! I know the positive would have sent me in a tailspin, but it sounds like everything else is pointing to a healthy baking period yet I can't wait to hear how your LO is doing and how big he's getting!

I have read, somewhere a while back, that sometimes those FFN's have a fairly decent false-positive rate, and if ladies are given the test again shortly after the first, some read negative. Not sure how it works, but it's all better to be cautious!

Keep us posted and rest up as best you can

Glad that you got lots of great news!! Though I hope that baby stays put longer than 2 weeks for you...and I'm sorry about the steroid shot and it's crazy side effects.
