as to why I can't feel the baby (hardly).
I called my doctor's office and spoke with the nurse. I told her my concerns about not feeling the baby. She also said it was odd that I was not really feeling anything at this point. I told her about most of the women on this board having regular movement , except for the ones with the anterior placentas. She said right away, that I would have been told during the sonogram if I had one. So she pulls my report and there it is! I have an anterior placenta and no one told me about it. So this is why I am not feeling the baby. I feel so much better having an explanation.

I bet you are glad you have a reason. I don't understand why they never told you about that x

What a huge relief for you! I can't believe they didn't tell you that. My Peri told me that mine was posterior - that is why I was showing so early and could feel movement early.

You know my OB just mentioned it in passing to the student that she had with her and i was like "I have an anterior placenta?" and she was like "yea that just means that if you have a c-section and it hasn't moved that they'll have to cut through the placenta to get to baby" She never mentioned lack of fetal movement, but i already knew what an anterior placenta meant...it kind of bums me out because i was REALLY looking forward to having my belly move all around like my sisters does

My OB didn't make a big deal of it either. The tech mentioned it casually while doing my ultrasound, but nothing more really. I knew more about it from here than from my doc!
Glad that you got some answers and feel better about it...

Glad you found out! No one ever tells me about the placental position, I always have to ask!

That is weird that they didn't tell you that. At least you can breathe a sign of relief.

Whew...I bet you are glad to finally have an answer. No one ever told me about my placenta placements either...... Even when I had placenta previa! I ended up bleeding heavily and it was only then in the ER did they look it up in my chart! I was like, "would have been nice if someone told me that!" This time around it's in the back and in the middle, but I only knew that because I asked the u/s tech.

I am glad you got the answer you needed to figure out why you haven't felt baby. I am just now starting to feel her on a daily basis due to my anterior placenta....BTW I asked about it at my u/s otherwise I would have never been told.

Thank you everyone! I can't believe how much better I feel. I knew something was odd. If it wasn't for all you ladies, I would have never even known about this. I am so glad I asked.
