Does anyone have a good list of the baby care/ medicine/ hygiene items to stock up on before the baby comes? Desitin, cotton balls, lotion, baby wash, thermometer, hairbrush, etc? I need to restock a lot of our stuff and don't want to miss anything!

I made my baby list up yesterday. I will just copy and past my grooming and med lists.

Bathing/Grooming
Baby tub
3-4 hooded towels
Pack of baby washcloths
Baby shampoo
Nail clippers
Baby brush kit

Medicine cabinet

Alcohol pads (for umbilical cord)
Petroleum jelly (for taking temp)
Rectal thermometer
Tylenol
Gas drops
Teething tablets

For those that have little boys and plan to do the circ...make sure to get the tube of petroleum jelly. I've bought this from Target and BRU. It's tube form and makes is SO much easier to apply the jelly during diaper changes.

ETA...I didn't put q-tips or cotton balls on my list, because I always have them in the house. Also, rash cream....that's on my "diaper" list. DH makes fun of my lists!

Thanks! I have all that stuff, except I need some refill protector thingies for the thermometer. What are they called? LOL preggo brain.

3-4 hooded towels is a lot! I think I have 1 gender neutral one and 1 for each gender.

I'm also getting some new mylicon to have on hand! Altho I barely used it for DD, it's nice to have on hand.

I call them plastic cover thingies....lol! I usually buy a pack of wash cloths and towels (usually 3-4 in each).

I've always heard great things about gripe water, but thankfully the Mylicon worked. I may pick up some gripe water to try this time around.

I have seen it at BRU and I think Target. The Little Tummies brand sells it.

Also if you happen to have a child like mine who hates to be held down to be given medicine when they're sick you can try to find something that I know that they carried when my son was an infant .. you could put the medicine into a cap above the sucker... ermm the pacifier i mean.
And I would get 2 packs of baby wash clothes.. ones with the edging on them one without. The ones with edging come in handy when they get older a bit and start to eat baby food. the other ones are good for when the baby first gets home and they need a bath.
Also I would see about getting a nail clipper kit.. comes with tiny nail files, nail clippers.. things like that.
I can't think of anything else tho at the moment.. if I do i'll repost.
