Are you announcing your baby's name to family and friends before birth or keeping it a secret? Why?

I've announced it to everyone I made up my sons name so I am proud of it!! I loveee it!

We are keeping it a secret. We did the last time and it worked out well. We didn't really make a final decision until the last few weeks so it was good we didn't tell people. Also I don't think people are as openly critical of a name when the baby is already here as they are before a baby is born.

we do have a name picked out for a girl & haven't even begun a boy's name....they are SO hard for us to come to an agreement on. but nobody's asked yet (probably cause all they're doing is complaining about us not finding out). i guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

I am not telling anyone. If people say they don't like it then my feelings will be hurt and it might make want to change the name. No one (I hope) will say they don't like the name after he's born.

We're keeping it a secret. I don't want to hear anybody's comments on whether they like the names or not, especially since mine and my DH's opinions are the only ones that matter. When I was pregnant with my other two, I had people throwing in their two cents about what the names should be, and it really irritated me. Seriously, why do people think its their place to name someone else's kid?

I like to wait. With two of my other children only very close family knew and the other two weren't named until after they were born. I like to reserve the right to change it if they come out looking like something different and also to avoid any unwanted comments. As of right now, we don't have a name anyway but I hope we at least have a couple options before she is born.

Everyone knows her name - or pretty much everyone at least. It was the same girl's name that we had when we had AJ so it was a mute point to keep it a secret. Both are family names anyways - and we haven't had any complaints.

Ive told people the list of names we liked before we picked out the name Alex. So far most people have liked most of the names. I think b/c its another boy etc i wanted to keep something to be a suprise when hes born.

You JM gals are the only ones who know our son's name. I had to tell somebody!

I've told a few people our list of names. But we don't decide 100% on a name until we can see the baby and get to know him/her a little bit first.

I think the entire planet knows her name. We can't keep things a secret!
