So I got up at 9am today and it's nearly 1pm and I've only felt about 6 movements in the last 4 hours. My lower back is killing me and I'm losing more of my plug (I think!). I called my doctor but there out on LUNCH! So I guess I have to wait until after 2 to call them again. I'm so worried right now, I'm drinking a soda and hoping that will get her moving. The movements I did get weren't very strong either.

I will update when I call my doctor and get a response.

I have some days that are very active and some that are not so much. I still think at this point we have days like that. And I remember having days like that even when I was in my last month of pregnancy with my son. I think the most important thing is that you feel some movement. I would only worry if you don't feel her at all.

I hope you hear from the doctor soon!

This is exactly why I went to L&D Saturday night. But I waited all day thinking maybe she was sleeping all day or just being lazy and that she would start kicking up a storm any minute. But she didn't, I only felt her about 4 time from the time I woke up till 9pm, that's when I decided to call the answering service and my dr called back in like 2 mins, once she asked exactly what my day was like she said go to L&D right away. Because not only was she barely moving she was also not moving as hard as she usually does. But turns out she was perfectly fine, and had hiccups also when they did the u/s, I chalked it up to her just having a lazy day. Not even the coffee I had before heading to the hospital was doing any justice. I think she wanted to play hide and seek, a few minutes after I got hooked up to all the monitors I started feeling more movements but they were still random.

So hopefully that's all that's going on with your little one, I'm sure she's fine maybe she's in a position where you aren't feeling her movements as strongly. I hope you can get in touch with your dr soon and everythings fine. KUP.

Zach has really busy days, like today, and other days where I have to poke him to get him moving...can you call the triage nurse at L&D? Our hospital has a hotline where you can call them directly and they will tell you whether to come in or not.

I think sometimes they just get into a cozy position and sleep all day. Some days baby kicks me like crazy and some days I barely notice him.
I am not one to give into worry over it b/c then I would just stay worried and in L&D all the time lol!
I just say a prayer and tell myself that he is fine and just cuddled up sleeping.

I'm paranoid myself and have already started kick counts just so I know what normal is for mine. I always do my kick count right before I go to bed. I have about 1/2 cup of orange juice diluted with a 1/2 cup of water and then I lay on my left side and see how long it takes to get 10 movements.

It's definitely not something you want to ignore! I have found that I no longer feel her moving during the day, but, I almost think my mind just screens her out so I can focus on other stuff. When I drink my orange juice and lay on my left side and actually pay attention, it only takes me about 8-10 minutes to get 10 movements out of her. My girl is just about always breech or transverse, I had a heck of a time feeling her the one night she was head down. BUT, I could still feel her if I was laying on my left side and paying attention.

My Dr tells me to drink something sweet or cold and then lay on my left side, if I don't get 10 movements in 2 hours, then I need to be checked out. Sometimes they do an ultrasound, sometimes they just check heart rate and something else, sorry, I can't remember what else they check.

If your Dr doesn't get back to you AND you can't get 10 movements in 2 hours laying on your left side after drinking something cold, then I would be heading into L&D because that's something even Dr's get concerned about.

Well, she called me back after speaking to the doctor. It's normal to be losing my plug a little bit and nothing to worry about.

So then she asks what I've eaten today and I've mostly ate grapes and cereal (horrible I know) but she said I need to take in some more protein and that could get her moving more. But she said it sounds fine and she's a lot bigger now so not as much room for big jabs. I feel so stupid asking so many questions when I've been through this 3 times before lol.

But she said I'm more than welcome to come to L&D if I want to. I listened to her hb on my doppler and she has the hiccups now so I think we're good she was just lazy today.

Thanks ladies, I'm glad I'm not the only one with a lazy baby lol.

I'm glad all is well! Jackson was a lazy boy one day last week when I hadn't eaten any protein. Sometimes I guess we forget that they need fuel too!
