So the stupid comments people make apparently aren't done once you deliver. I had a woman I'd never met ask me this weekend if I'm pregnant. While I was holding my 1 week old baby. When I am already below my pre-pregnancy weight. And then just now I had one of my friends tell me I seem to have a lot of time on my hands now because I'm online a lot. Hmmm, maybe that's because I've already been up 5 times throughout the night between feedings and changings so, yes, now I'm online while he's happily swinging away in the hour before his next feeding. Sometimes I even hold him with one arm while he's sleeping and type with the other! I'm out on leave and other than DBF this is my line to the outside world.

What comments have the rest of you gotten recently?

Ugh! How annoying.

I am still dealing with the pregnancy comments. My mother decided to gather all the males in my family and take a 'circumcision poll' today for my baby. Did I ask for this or want this information? Big fat NO. Now I know way more than I ever wanted to know about family members male parts. But what irritates me more is that I was not asked if I wanted this information! Obnoxious.

Nothing like that, thankfully! But after my first dd, I had someone ask me if I was pregnant when she was like a month old and that was when I was pretty skinny! Well, not skinny but right in the middle of what is considered to be a healthy weight. Mostly people ask me if she's my first, like today at the dr's office when my mom was with my kids that were home. And then when they hear that she's my 5th, they act all surprised and sometimes ask how old I am. Yes, I am young and I look even younger but come on people! Mind your own business!

newbie.mom- that story made me laugh! What kind of person does that?

I cant believe that woman said that while u are holding a newborn!!!

OMG u shouldn't worry about that because that lady must have a screw loose in her head to not have been able to connect those dots!!! Hopefully she even thought back on saying that and said "wow im slow"!!!

Just because ur online doesn't mean u have "a lot of time on your hands". If ur anything like me...ur just an amazing multi-tasker.

I can be online...cooking...doing laundry...writing a research paper..watching tv or a movie.. texing... and on the phone...and still fully absorb everything going on around me.

Arent mommies supposed to be multi-taskers?!?!? lol

Ehhh she was just jealous of ur skills!!

Thankfully I haven't had any issues. I'm sorry you are still having people making rude comments. I don't understand why people don't think before they speak.

When they ask if you are pregnant as you hold your one week old you reply "Yes...who WOULDN'T have sex right after the other baby came out?"

Today I got, "wow, you don't look as tired as I would have thought you'd look". What does that even mean? I look less like poop than she thought I would right now?

My other friend said, "don't worry, your belly will take a long time to go back to normal, and even then it really won't ever go back to the shape it was". I hadn't even asked anything about weight so I'm guessing my belly looks bad.

Hrmphf!

OMG people really are amazing... I can't believe someone would say that.

And Angela, lol, I was so shocked I almost said "I can't even have sex yet!" but luckily I caught myself since we were with his grandparents and his mother at the time . This was some random neighbor that stopped by. I just told her that no, all the weight was from this child.
