I know the topic of birth control has been brought up in the past on here, but I was just wondering now that many of us have had are babies and the rest will be having them very soon what everyones plans for BC are?

I personally am still unsure of what I am going to do. I don't like hormonal BC and I'm not sure I really have time for NFP and paying attention to my cycle that much. I'm pretty sure we are done having children but not sure enough to commit to anything permanent. I need to get something figured out within the next 3 weeks though before I go back in for my 6 week appt.

I got a prescription for the mini pill, but haven't bothered starting it yet because I still haven't been cleared to DTD nor do I have any desire to right now. In the long run, DH will be getting a vasectomy, so I won't have to worry about it.

I'm of no help, Erin... We'll do the family planning thing, with no back up birth control. If we happen to get preggo right away, we'll take it! It took alot to get Kellen, and so we're not exactly confident we can get pregnant immediately, even if we wanted to...

Right now, though... the "no sex" rule seems to be working just fine with me!

I think we're just going with whatever happens, happens. I didn't get AF until#2 stopped BFing consistently-a few days before his first bday, so I'm probably pretty safe for awhile.

Even if we thought we were one (we are totally unsure), we wouldn't feel right to do someting permanent. Since I'm already a SAHM, it realy wouldn't change too change to add another, financially anyways.

I had a tubal done during my c-section - so we are set for no more babies. At first we were going to have DH have the Big V done but we decided that after the problems with this pregnancy to go ahead and have the tubes done now.

The original plan was to just NTNP until I got pregnant again. Now, I'm not entirely sure I want another and even if I decide that I do, I definitely do not want to have such a close spacing again. So the plan is for condoms, I think. I don't want to be on anything hormonal while I'm breastfeeding, which I will do for at least 12 months. Might be nice to have my body back for a little bit too since I have been nursing or pregnant (or both, for 3 months) since June 2008.

Does anyone know if there's a reason we wait till 6 weeks? I meant to ask yesterday if I could go ahead and start cause it takes 2 weeks for full protection from what I remember. I don't want to wait till 6 weeks check up to ask and then have to wait 2 weeks from then as well. I want my BC! lol

I'm probably going to go on the mini-pill. I'm fairly certain we're done having kids, but I don't think either one of us is ready to do anything permanent.

I think I'll do the mini pill too...but what is the difference between that and the regular pill?

I will go on the pill when I"m done BFing.

Same. It took us a good 3-4 years to get Rowan so I don't think I'm super fertile. Then again, I did get pg a few times during that time and had miscarriages so I don't know.

We'll do the charting and condoms method along with BFing. Not eager to DTD yet either though (seriously, how long does it take to heal from tears from delivery...augh!)

My doctor suggested IUD, so when I go in for my 6 week appointment we're going to discuss it more then.

FYI infertility can be fickle! I was infertal for ten years before getting DD#1 then seven more before DD#2 then I got pregnant 4 times in a year!

We would be happy with one more so we are going straight to NTNP. I found my libido... where was it last week when I was trying to pry this baby out? Since again i have no vaginal discomfort we are going to wait two weeks. Until six weeks we will probably use condoms as that will cut the risk of infection after that we will let it ride.

I'll probably end up back on the Jolivette, which I think is the same as what everyone keeps calling the mini-pill. But that's what I was on prior to conceiving Logan, lol. That and Depo are the only 2 things my drs will give me with my migraines, any other pill just causes them. But I don't want to do the actual Depo b/c it can take up to a year after you stop it to conceive and if we decide to have another it'll need to be soon since I am 38 right now. So its probably the Jolivette again even though I hate taking them every day and I know I'll forget.
