The birth control question started me wondering...if you've had a c-section do you have to wait the full 6 weeks before DTD? If not, how long do they usually make you wait?

I have no idea. I had a c-section and when I went in for my 1 week follow up with my doctor to check on my incision, she asked me about birth control. I got the mini pill prescription, but I certainly have no desire to DTD anytime soon.

Im lurking, since i used to be a member of your DDC. I like to see how you girls are all doing. Im now in the nov/dec DDC. Anyway, i had an emergency c-section with my first son. We DTD 3 weeks after he was born. The doctor asked when i went for my 6 week check up if we had and i told him we had and when, he didnt seem bothered, just asked if i was happy with my BCP and that was it.

i was told it takes 8 weeks to heal from c-section by one of many docs that came into my room while i was at the hospital. BUT since Livy turned 2 weeks i've DTD 2x already, i'm feeling good so why not? i know there's some possbilities of something going wrong. But i figured if i'm feeling good and no pain and if we take it easy should be ok.

I envy those of you who don't want to wait. Right now, I'm still so sore -- DTD is the last thing on my mind! We'll wait the 8 weeks!

I was told 6 weeks as well, but I think it depends how long you bleed and how you feel!

Last time hubby and I were back in action by 4 weeks. I think they still say the general 6 week rule though just to be safe.
