Is anyone experiencing this? I did a search online and found that it's not uncommon in breastfeeding moms especially.

I'm trying to increase my water consumption as well as fruit juice/veggies etc. I was eating Fiber One cereal every day when I was pregnant, which worked GREAT. But, DS seems to get really gassy so I'm trying to avoid dairy, which means no cereal.

I bought some Senokot at the store today but after searching online, I'm not sure if I want to use it. Some of the sites said it could increase DS's discomfort and gassiness, which I really want to avoid.

Anyone have any tips?

The nurses in the hospital made a concoction of hot tea, ginger ale and a little prune juice. It tasted really good and worked. At home I've just been drinking prune juice.

I used a stool softener afterwards (last time)until I felt totally normal.

It took me a while but a generic stool softener finally helped.

OMG -- it's been awful! I know this is going to be TMI, but seriously, the other night it felt like I was giving birth all over again! My pharmacist recommended Colase for BFing moms -- it's making the situation better.

Good luck!
