My hands and feet swelled during pregnancy, but mostly around 28 weeks. They hadn't been very swollen at all for a few weeks. Today, 2 days post birth, they are swollen again... what gives? Anyone else?

i am not sure of the reason but it is very normal!!! i was glad that my friend told me before my first cus i would have freaked out at the amount of swelling
it happened this time too....i think it was just over a week when one morning i woke up and my feet were normal again!
i think if you have an epi and iv fluid there is more swelling but i am not sure.... this time i only had the iv for 5 mins before it fell out and the epi for about 15mins before they took itout cus gavin was already here... and i still swelled so that theory doesn;t make too much sense........... who knows but it will go away soon!!!
My swelling was HORRIBLE until a few days ago. It was actually worse than when I was pregnant. Luckily it seems to have gone away (I'm 2 weeks postpartum now) and I even walked quite a bit yesterday and today with nothing.
Thank you Alethia for my gorgeous siggy!!
Same thing happened to me -- the day I delivered, my feet were normal.....two days later, they were swollen and I had "cankles"! My doctor said it's a normal side effect to being pumped full of fluids and having pitcoin. The swelling was gone within a week. Just keep an eye on them!
I had the same thing but it happened a week later just in my hands and feet. But now I have high blood pressure same week the swelling started. I had perfect bp all thru pregnancy now I take 6 pills a day to keep it normal. I would check ur bp just to be safe, however I don't think my swelling n High bp had anything to do with each other
I went back to the ER at three days because not only was my swelling 10x worse than when i was pregnant... my blood pressure went up to 180/110! YIKES. Even now it is still hovering at 140/100 which is crazy high especially medicated.
The ER said I needed to move around and relax and put my feet up lol!
I had no swelling during pregnancy and then two days post-delivery, my legs looked like hamhocks! I called my OB and the nurse said it was caused by all the fluids that my body accumulated during pregnancy and that they were now leaving my body. Lasted about 1 week!
I have the same problem. My feet swelled a bit at the end of pregnancy but now they are much worse. Today is the first day the swelling is down a bit. I was told swelling is normal for about 2 weeks but to call the docotor if it lasted longer then that.
