Tonight at 7 pm.

I went to my midwife today, had a u/s and and NST. She said that my fluid levels looked good and the NST scan was good, but that I had a level III aging placenta and she was worried that it wouldn't support baby (who was estimated at 10 pounds, but she said that's not always very accurate) over the weekend, especially with his SUA.

I really trust my midwife. I know she wouldn't suggest an induction if she didn't think it was necessary. Plus...what doctor wants to be stuck in the hospital all weekend If it was out of convenience, she would have waited till Monday. But still, I was really hoping to avoid an induction. She did say, though, that she would do it slowly. She's starting with a prostaglandin suppository, and will do two of those 5 hours apart. If that doesn't work, we can talk from there, but might have to use pitocin. I'm really hoping the suppositories work!

So wish me luck, ladies! Buttons will be here SOON!!!

I am sure everything will go well Amy even if they have to use Pictocine I have had two pitocine deliveries and they were just perfect.

Good Luck! Especially on that final moment before you write his name on that birth certificate!

Good luck, Amy! I know you didn't want an induction, but after what Sarah has experienced, thinking it could have been aging placenta and the SUA, I think this is probably a very good idea. ((HUGS))

With DD, I had the prostaglandin Tx to get me rolling, and that is all it took. You are far enough along, I bet you don't need much to get things started! FX that this is just the little incentive you need and you don't need anything else, so you can have your natural birth

I'm praying it is swift and sending you ELV's for your labor! I can't wait to meet your little Buttons! (Are you staying with Sawyer, or is that a surprise we get to wait on?)

Thanks, Gwynne! You've made me feel a lot better about all of this. Sarah's heartbreaking story really hit home for me, and it's definitely reminding me that this is the best way to go.

And I'm not sold on Sawyer. It's still in the running, but I'm waiting till he's here to decide for sure. I'll keep you posted, though

I wanted to avoid induction too but that sounds like a verrryyyy good reason!!! I believe u are making the right choice for ur LO...there no sense in taking ANY risks!!

Good luck and taking it slow will give u the chance to do it on ur own as much as possible!!!!

Cant wait to "meet" ur LO!!!!!

Definitely sounds like a good idea based on the placenta condition. Good luck Amy!

good luck! I didnt want to be induced either but when it comes down to it as long as your baby boy gets here safe and healthy your not going to mind if you had to be induced or not. I hope it all goes smoothly for you!!
