The pediatrician said that there are new recommendations for exclusively breast-fed babies to get Vitamin D drops daily. Have you heard this? Are you doing it?

The hospital gave us. I know where we live we don;t get alot of winter sun so it is recommended for everyone. I'm not sure if I will give them to her all the time. I never have with any of my babies before.

My dr gave me a prescription for vitamin D. He says he prefers that over giving the baby drops. I did tell him that they told me to get out in the sun every day but he said that where we live, I can't get enough vitamin D that way. I still need to pick it up from the pharmacy.

I live in the deep south so I figure he shouldn't have a lot of trouble getting out in the sun. Maybe when winter comes along?

I asked the pediatrician if there were a lot of kids with a deficiency or something and that is why? She said it was a "soft" recommendation because it's not like loads of breastfed babies are getting rickets or anything.

Our pedi prescribed it. Michael takes it fine, but I don't give it to him every day like the dr. Said. Only twice aweek
