I understand some swelling is normal after delivery, but how long does it typically last? My feet/ankles were pretty bad before but now they're huge, along with my legs and calves. He's only 5 days old and I was going to give it until mid week next week before I call the doc, just wanted others input.

I'm having the same issue! I never had any swelling during pregnancy and now my ankles are huge. They go down a bit when I'm off them though. Hoping this goes away soon and it's nothing to be concerned about!

I remember that so well! I haven't had an issue this time. But after my twin girls were born, I swelled so badly. I didn't have any swelling during the pregnancy. But afterwards was a different story. My girls weighed 13 pounds combined. And with two placentas and two bags of water, I should've dropped about 20 pounds just from delivery "stuff." However, when I got home, was only down FOUR pounds!!!

It took about 7-10 days for me. Then I really started peeing pretty often. But what I remember the most is sweating in the middle of the night. And I generally don't sweat, even during a hard workout. But my body was finally releasing all that fluid. Hopefully your body will realize soon that it doesn't need that fluid anymore!

My ankles, feet, calves and even thighs were hugely swollen for about a week and some change. I'm now 2 1/2 weeks after delivery and its stopped. Not sure where in that week it stopped but its definitely not there anymore. I was even able to wear (small) heels last night with no swelling.

Yep, I swelled up to. My ankles and feet are still swollen but not as bad as they were. My dr. said it would be about 2 weeks before that went away so I'm waiting patiently
