DH is an accountant and when he told one of his coworkers we were due in December, he said "Oh I hope you have the baby before the New Year!" And DH was like, yeah our due date is the first so hopefully the baby isn't a month overdue. LOL

When I told everyone what I thought was my EDD (12/31/10), they would always tell me to go in early to make sure I get the tax deduction. When I found out that my doc's office had somehow calculated the EDD as 1/1/11, people said to DEFINITELY try and have the baby in December so I could get the tax deduction, even my ob's nurse!

It never really mattered to me, but it looks like we will be inducing mid-December anyway because I am on blood thinning injections.
