Well, my birth story is pretty drama-free, seeing as how we had a planned C-section. I wanted to attempt VBAC, but my hospital and OB do not allow it, and my risk assessment indicated a C-section was the safest route after my son's emergency C in 2008. We left for the hospital around 530am for pre-op prep. After the nurses had me ready, they came in to talk about the spinal block and prep me for that. We were scheduled to go in around 730am for the operation, and that we did! I think they brought me in around 725 and my spinal followed pretty quickly after that. It was FREEZING in there and the spinal hurt worse than I remembered it going in. Once I was starting to get numb, they put me on the table and began. I was stressing cause I didn't feel completely numb yet, and I was petrified they were going to start cutting before I was numb. Well, of course they didn't and before I knew it they were telling me I would feel pressure which in C-section land means they are pulling baby out. I braced myself for anything, since we had been told the baby could have Down's or Trisomy based on a heart spot and brain cyst they had found at our 18-week u/s. When baby came out at 753am, I knew right away it was a girl. Her cry was unmistakably girly! But of course, I wanted confirmation since I was hoping so much for a girl. It felt like forever before they finally said it was a girl. I started bawling my eyes out of course, and saw her briefly before they took her for weight, etc. She was perfect! All my worst fears were gone and I could finally relax and enjoy my little girl. Well, except for the awful recovery that follows a C-section. Now, here I am 3 weeks out writing this and remembering that wonderful day. Welcome to the world, Natalie! We love you so much already, and can't remember life without you now.

I forgot you were on Team Green! Isn't is so exciting to finally find out what gender your precious baby is?
