I JUST signed up for the Disney Half Marathon in February!!!! I'm really trying to take advantage of my last 7 weeks of maternity leave to train while I have the "time"!! I can't wait, but am so nervous! This will be my first half marathon!!! I'll have to post on here my running log to keep myself accountable!! Anyone else interested in signing up? We have four months
I'm running one on March 20 here in my town. I signed up for it last year, but got pregnant and doc made me drop out. I was up to 11 miles around 9 weeks pregnant when I had to stop.
I've started training, but had to take this week off due to an injury. I don't want to hurt myself worse before my training really begins.
I'd love to add to the running log! So far I am doing 2 short runs of 4-5 miles 3 times a week. When my running partner gets back in town next week we'll add a long run to the mix once a week. When we were training last year, we did 2 five mile runs during the week and a progressively longer run on the weekend. Since we are at 4 now, our long run might be 5-6 the weekend after Halloween.
I ran a half this past November and I loved it! I'm starting small with a couple 5ks then a 10k in march. Ran for the 1st time yesterday and it's apparent that I have a long way to go before I can do another half.
Just had my run/walk evaluated at the Running Store for a pair of new kicks! Starting to feel real! My running log will start tomorrow!! Nothing impressive yet, not even 6 wks pp yet, but gotta start somewhere!
