Anyone else still swaddling at night time? We're still swaddling Livi...she hasn't once rolled over in her swaddle or anything like that in the middle of the night. It's the ONLY way she sleeps peacefully, but I'm starting to get a little worried that maybe it's wrong that she's almost 7 months and is still being swaddled. With winter coming I wanted to get her a heavier sleep sack so that she stays warm, but I can't really do that with the swaddle too. It's been fine so far...I just put her in a fleece sleeper and the swaddleme and she seems to stay plenty warm (she's REALLY warm blooded!) but I know that will change as the weather gets worse and worse.

Advice, tips, words of wisdom? I'm afraid she won't sleep well if she's not in the swaddle! She's always flailing her arms around and waking herself up!

When Rachel was having her sleep issues a few weeks ago, the only way I could get her to fall asleep was to start swaddling again. She was getting herself so worked up that her arms were flailing everywhere and she kept taking her paci out and getting mad. Swaddling her completely stopped that! That's now my last resort if she really isn't wanting to go to bed, but is obviously tired. I'll usually go into her room and undo the swaddle once she's asleep, but that's because I want her to sleep on her side instead of flat on her back (still working on the flat head thing). I think if it's the only way she sleeps good then just keep doing it. Have you tried her without though? Or maybe one arm out to see how she does?

I know people who have swaddling up to like 10 months and their babies are fine. She should be strong enough to break out now if she really didn't want to be, right? I really do think they let you know when they are done being swaddled, my personal opinion is I'd rather have a rested, happy swaddled baby than a cranky tired baby that can't sleep cuz they are swaddled.

We haven't swaddled in months, but it should be fine to do still. I have a friend who swaddled her son until he was a year old. You can always try one night without swaddling and see how she does. If she doesn't sleep well then just go back to swaddling again.

Anthony was swaddled forever. It won;t harm her to do what she enjoys/needs to sleep.

Thanks guys! I'm not going to worry about it. She does really like being swaddled for whatever reason, and she is strong enough to break out of it because she has before when she's woken up and was hanging out in her crib chattering to herself .

I just stopped swaddling Addisyn last most. I slowly and I mean slowly did it. I started with one arm out and left it at that for about a week or more. Then it was the other arm, again another week or so. Then I started to move the swaddle lower down her body and then just took it off. completely. I just wrapped her with a very small blanket and used a sleep sack on top of that. Now she is just in her PJs and a blanket. At times she does wake up because she's cold tho. she needs to start wearing her fleece pjs
