I am wiping my slate clean. Holidays are over. New year, time to get healthy. Sure I would love to be thin, but realistically, it's most important to me that I start to get healthier. I am very very overweight and know so many things in my life would benefit from my body being in better shape.

So I was wondering if any of you are starting new with a clean slate for the new year. Mines not a new years resolution. Mine is a forever solution. But I would love to talk with you guys about our changes, struggles, and successes.

Count me in! I just posted in Lisa's thread about how I would like to lose about 10-15 pounds in order to be happy with where I am. I'm not concerned about being thin---just fitting into my clothes better as I've been outgrowing them!

So Mandy...what are your plans?

Here are a couple of things I'm going to incorporate.

1) Drinking water. I'm terrible about this, and I BF. So that's even worse! I want to drink at least one glass of water in the morning BEFORE I let myself have any coffee.

2) Take the stairs at work, not the elevator.

3) Try one new recipe a week to encourage myself to cook more.

4) Limit my eating out at lunch to twice per week.

Those are some things that can hopefully get me started down the right path in the new year!

I need to. I got my Wii Fit back out and was a bit taken aback by how much I weigh I've GAINED 20 lb. since Kolbie was born. Throws out that theory that BFing helps you lose weight, doesn't it? Here's what I'm going to try to do:

1) Also drink more water. I'm going to try my hardest NOT to drink pop unless we are going out to eat. If I don't have it in the house, I don't drink it. DH and I usually like different things so even if he has some I'm usually not tempted by it.

2) Start incorporating vegetables into our diets. I know it's horrible. We eat NO vegetables regularly. None. Kaija won't even touch them and that makes me sad. We need to fix this, asap.

3) Quit being lazy. TV shows are not more important than my health. Once the girls are in bed for the night I need to dedicate 30-60 min. each day to exercising. Whether it's on the Wii Fit or getting some DVDs or playing Just Dance, whatever it is, I need to do it. That's why I have a DVR

4) Once the weather is nice enough, go on daily walks with the girls. Even when it's super hot and I want to stay in my nice a/c'd house.

I need to get healthy this year as well. I'm tired of feeling like I don't have enough energy and hating the way that I look and feel. I'd like to lose another 10-15lbs, possibly more. I really need to tone up though as well.

Here's what I'm doing this month to get started:

1) DH and I are rejoining the gym and I'm committed to going with my friend to Zumba class at least 3x a week.

2) I need to cut out wine, juice, and soda. I mainly drink water and skim milk (just a cup in the morning), but over the holidays I started drinking a lot of sparkling juices, sodas, and wine. And now I want soda all the time, which is not good.

3) I also am going to cut back on lunches out. Lily, Vi, and I go out a lot with other moms for lunches after playdates. I'm going to start packing our lunch, or just going home after we hang out.

I'm with you. I have got to start exercising more and quit eating mindlessly.

Sometimes I find that I'm eating and really I'm not even hungry

me too!I need to lose 25 to 30 pounds
i've started writing in my food journal again, counting calories, eating more fruits and veggies, drinking lots of water, limiting myself to one diet soda a day and getting atleast a half an hour of aerobics a day plus light exercise! I need to stay on track this time!!

I am trying to exercise atleast 3 times a week, although 5 would be preferred, No soda ( was doing good for 4 months and then had 2 this week. seriously what the heck?) water.....water....water..... And I want to make small goals that are acheivable. little changes that will make a lifestyle change not feel drastic. it may be a slow weight loss plan but I want it to be a long term life thing. I am sick of diets and things that make me gain all of the weight back. I want to be skinny, but I want to be healthy even more so.
