This is totally a lame thing, but...UGH! I have had fillings fall out/break off/get loose 4 times within a year on the SAME freakin' tooth! And, it's my front one. And, I just had it fixed last MONDAY.

Just thought I'd share my annoyance. I know I need a new dentist, but I don't know who to go to and I don't want to have to start paying someone else all over again for the same thing. I'm pretty good about brushing/flossing, but not perfect. Can this be my fault over and over again? This time it broke off after biting into a soft taco. Not exactly peanut brittle.

/vent.

I can't see how it could be your fault 4 times in a year! I say get a second opinion elsewhere. I'd be annoyed too!

Yeah I'd definitely go somewhere else....that stinks! I'd ask around and find out if you have a friend who really likes their dentist.

No not your fault. It definitely sounds like you need a new dentist.

I am thinking new dentist.

My hubby had a similar issue. His brother chipped one of his front teeth. He kept going back to the same dentist after it keep breaking (plus he had to repay everytime bc it wasn't "warrantied".

Then we got married and it broke again. I made him go to my dentist. He did and the dentist fixed and gave him a warranty on it. That was 10 years ago - no problems. KNOCKING ON WOOD - Don't want to jinx it now. LOL

New dentist, for sure!! I would be frustrated too. It's annoying enough having to go to the dentist, let alone all the time for the same thing!

Having a good dentist is worth the money!! Its def. not your fault to have this happen so often, so soon!!! You go to a dentist to FIX something.. granted, if it happened once, then its understandable, but dentists get paid more money than doctors, so they should be doing stuff RIGHT!

I have seen the same dentist since I was 4, and I have medicaid, and he doesn't take that.. I go to him still for my cleanings every 6 month, and pay cash, instead of looking for someone to take medicaid.. this is because I trust him, and I know how shotty dentists can be.. I once went to one to get an infection looked at, because my dentist was booked.. he took an xray and said it was infected because of an impacted wisdom tooth, and he could take it out that day.. I said no, just some antibiotics and painkillers, and id followup with my normal dentist.. well I f/u with my normal dentist, they took xrays and said all my wisdom teeth are in, straight, and have spaces.. absolutely no impaction.. So, lesson ehre? That dentist straight up wanted to rip a perfectly good tooth out just for $$$!!

Trust goes a long way with teeth!! You only get one set for life!

That would drive me nuts! I'm agreeing with everyone else, even though it's a PITA I'd find a new dentist.

Thanks ladies. I'm glad I'm not the only one who would be annoyed at this.

The problem is I know too many dentists. Just right now, I could name at least 5 of my neighbors that are dentists, and I don't know which of them to go to, or if I should even go to someone I know. I like having the dentist close, so my family member's dentists won't work, they're too far away.

Gah! Thanks for letting me vent.
