For those that give their LO's juice....what kind do you give them? And how much do you dilute it with water??
And....I am still using nursery water to make Peyton's bottles. We live in the country and get our water from a well, so it's hard water. (We do have a water softner and even a reverse osmosis thing which helps filter the water). When Peyton is at my moms or anywhere in town I just use city water, but at home we still use the nursery water. Do I need to keep doing this or can she drink our water?? And if she can drink our water do I need to give it to her through the reverse osmosis or just straight from the regular faucet? What do you all think????
Thank you Quantum_Leap for my fabulous signature!!!
Hmm, i dont know about the water! We dont drink our tap water we drink filtered through the refrigerator and thats what we use for his bottles also but we do use tap to cook... i think if you drink the tap water then its okay? And i think it would probably be okay for juice or formula bec/ for the most part its probably "Ok" to drink it just doesnt taste good... so using it with juice or formula you would taste that not the water itself?
We don't do juice...not sure about the water because we are on city water. I do think that once you stop formula you need to make sure you add flouride to the well water so that Peyton gets the flouride for her teeth. Well water won't have any (you could have it tested if you want). My neices have completely rotten teeth (like having them pulled out at age 3) because they grew up on all well water and their mom never gave them flouride.
But ask your pedi about it (or your dentist) they can recommend.
I don't give juice yet but I think it's suppossed to be 1/4 juice to 3/4 water.
For your water, could you get a Brita water pitcher? That's what we have to filter the water, but I don't think I have hard water. Sorry that prob doesn't help much.
