Hey guys, how do you know how much food to give your LO? I gave up on puree's so i can't really gauge how much food he's eating in ounces or jars anymore if that makes sense. I dont know how much table food is appropriate for him... so if you give table foods how much do you give for snacks or for a meal?

For snacks he usually has a mum mum and some yogurt bites, or puffs and yogurt bites, or a teething cookie thing and some yogurt bites... (can you sense a theme? he loves him some yogurt!) and then meal wise we just give him a little bit of what we're eating but i dont know how much to give him.........

It varies daily, but I usually give Vi about 3/4 cup of food daily. She only eats about one meal of table food most days, but sometimes a little more. I just kind of eyeball it and give her whatever we are eating. Last night we had soup and she had some potato, turnip, broccoli, and pea pieces, along with a bit of chicken sliced up. She usually starts throwing, or playing, with her food when she's done eating so I just take her food away then.

Whenever we or I sit down to eat, I give Logan food (only way to avoid the oh-so-pathetic puppy dog eyes). I let him eat until he shows signs of being done...playing, throwing his food off his tray, etc.

Same here - I just cut up whatever we are having. Except breakfast - he usually eats a baby yogurt or a scrambled egg. He will eat the whole yogurt (Jed loves him some yogurt too!) but not the whole egg. And when he starts dropping peices of food off the tray, I know he is done.

I imagine he has about a cup of people food. But some ends up in his lap or on the floor!

Its just hard to know if i "should" give him say, half a piece of cheese or a quarter or whatever... since hes 1 already he's starting the transition to focusing more on food and getting off formula so i need to make sure he's eating well

I'd say I give her between a quarter cup to half a cup for a meal depending on what we're eating and how hungry she is, but about half ends up in her lap, on the floor or in the dog's mouth (she likes to share and throw them on the floor to make the dog come over ). I'd say she probably actually eats a cup or less of real food in a day, if I include her snacks and everything.

When Lily weaned from nursing and was only on solids I just tried to make sure that the main part of her meal was either fruits or veggies, and then she had some carbs and a protein. I got a bunch of toddler plates, which are smaller in size, and would put food onto them. When she was just 1 the food was a small amount in the center of the plate and as she's gotten older it's started to take up the entire plate at meals now.

My child will not eat solids. The only thing she'll eat is like...half a ritz cracker. That's it.

I offer it to him 2-3 times a day (usually when i'm eating) and stop when he is showing signs of being done.
