OMGosh ladies, I just went through secuirty at the airport, and they threatened to pat me down over a jar of baby food.

I know they have a limit on liquids of 3 oz, but baby food isn't a liquid! I just told them to throw it away, but I'm furious. Now Brynlee has nothing to eat. We're gonna have to rush out right away once we arrive in CO to get her some lunch/dinner.

Jarred baby food is allowed per their website:
TSA: Important Information on Traveling With Formula, Breast Milk, and Juice

I hate that some of these agents don't know their own policies

That is so ridiculous. I'd be mad too. What if she needed to eat during the flight?

So so sorry! If you're taking E-470 to the Springs, I'm right off of it and have lots of baby food.

Hope the flight goes well. Good luck!

Did you hear about the woman who missed her flight because they kept her waiting after patting her down because she had pumped breast milk with her that she asked not be put through the x-ray machine? It's on their list as medical stuff or something that they can just look at or something to "search" or or whatever & that it doesn't have to be scanned in the x-ray machine. She even brought a print-out of that n showed them n everything n they still made her stand around waiting for them...n they weren't even doing anything. Seriously, they need to get off their high horses.

^ yeah they put her in isolation and called the cops on her because she had filed a complaint about having the same problem the week before

I have never had a problem with breast milk, formula or snacks when I've flown. I've even brought pumped milk without Abri with me. They just took me to a separate area to use another machine to look for explosives that didn't involve x-ray

Jarred food is permissible, but you're supposed to declare it to them before they send it through the machine. I'm sorry they were rude though. Pushy TSA agents are a huge peeve of mine. I got so lucky in Portland, OR because the agents were all so nice and I even forgot to take my computer out of the diaper bag and they just laughed it off and sent it back through without being rude.

See, I knew it sounded wrong! They have never given me an issue over formula before, so I didn't think that would happen. I thought baby food was an exception, but its not even a liquid.

Alisha, thanks for offering! You are so sweet! We actually came in through the Springs, but I really appreciate it

uggg. I have to fly next month and have a stopover and was wondering what about bringing Mia's puffs and yogurt melts for snacks. I guess not.

I'd tell you to print out the policies from the website but after remembering that one womans story where she was detained, I'm sort of afraid that would piss them off more. Sorry you had to pitch the food. That sucks. What an inconvience for you...
