I'm sick. I have runny/stuffy nose, cough, sneeze, the works. My DH said he would pcik me up something after work, but he worked 12 hours today and I wanted him home so I told him not to worry about it. I was just looking through the medicine cabinet and found some Tylenol COLD Multi-Symptom. I looked on Kellymom, but it was too much info for my spinning head, lol. So can I take this? I'm freaked out now after reading the post about Sudafed.

I don't think it's safe because of the phenylpherine. Kellymom lists it as L3, which is only moderately safe. You usually want to stick with L1 and L2 items.

Regular Dimatapp or Robitussin are okay to take. Hot water with honey can help a lot as well. I just usually down the hot water with honey and lemon in it and hope for the best.

hey, what about antihistamines like claritin/zyrtec? I know they're considered safe while pregnant, and it will help with a stuffy/runny nose.

Regular Claritin and Zyrtec are both L2, so they're considered fairly safe. Claritin-D, however, has been shown to reduce milk supply.

just sayin...I will never again take anything like that after my milk supply drop. Don't know if I can really blame that or if its a combination of things but I think i'll try natural remedies from now on.
Sorry you are feeling unwell. That sucks. I feel your pain. I hope you are back to feeling better really soon!!!!!

Have you tried a neti-pot or homeopathic remedies?

Thanks ladies...I haven't taken anything...I just did the warm honey water. I'm just gonna suck it up because I'm too worried about my supply. My DH is home today so that help a ton!
