I tried getting Caleb to start sleeping in his crib even though I love cosleeping (our bed's getting too small!), but that didn't pan out, and, to be honest, I'm happier this way. My nights were soooooo restless with Caleb in his room. So, I tell myself that it's just until winter's over (his room gets really cold for some reason), and until then, he's been back in bed with us.

Who else still shares their bed with their LO?

I need a third option of "sometimes". Like this morning Kolbie thought 6 was an acceptable wake up time so I brought her to bed with me. And really I do most mornings since she's apparently an early bird, much to all of our dismay!!

she has never slept with us. She was in a bassinet by our bed in the beginning but moved to crib in her own room when she grew out of the cradle.

Livi strictly sleeps with us, but I am at the point now where I want to change that, but I know she is going to dislike this VERY much. I even get a little separation anxiety not sleeping with her...lol I just want to get prepared for when the new baby comes and we have too small of a bed to have everyone in there. Also, I know when I'm preggo I start to get so uncomfortable and I'll probably disturb her moving around so much.

Jamie never coslept with me - he started out in a bassinet next to my bed and then moved into his crib when he outgrew it, around 3 months. His crib is in my room though because the only other bedroom is on a different floor at the other end of the house.

I should specify that co-sleeping refers to a child in your ROOM whereas bed sharing is a child in your BED.

I didn't know that was the meaning of cosleeping.. good to know! Camden has never slept in our bed except a few nights when he was a newborn (more on accident) and he's slept in his own room since around 5 weeks old.

I didn't know that, Beth! Thanks! I suppose I should edit my first post to say "bed-sharing," rather than cosleeping. Can I edit polls?

I can't really vote, since our set up is very unique. Logan canNOT sleep with us...he is too restless, and it makes him upset to be constantly running into us at night. He sleeps so much better in his crib. But he does come to bed with us to nurse at night, and sometimes spends an hour or two in there before I manage to wake up enough to take him back to his crib.

I don't think you can edit polls. Most people get the two mixed up, but Dr. Sears is very specific about the definition. Not everyone should bed share, but HE stresses that co-sleeping is best for everyone (his opinion not mine.)

Karsyn sleeps in her bed in her room until 8ish in the mornings, then I put her in my bed, nurse her and she will go back to sleep with me and Kinley until 11ish.

Kinley is in our bed every night. Even if she starts out in her bed in her room, she will come in our bed around 3am...usually thru a night terror other times she just wakes up and she will just get in bed and sleep with us. She has been sleeping in our bed since 5 months when she wouldn't sleep I would just nurse her every 2 hours all night for a year...it was easier for her to sleep with us. She will be 4 in July and I really want her out of our bed. She was doing really good in her bed around 2.5 until the night terrors started a few months ago!

I voted no, but that's only because there wasn't a sometimes option.

He was in our bed 100% until 3 months, then moved to his crib. Now he will sleep in his crib the majority of them time, but he still occassionally ends up in our bed...like this morning. I'd say he is in his crib 90% of the time though.

We bed-share as long as we are nursing. We co-sleep usually a few months after to extend the transition process.

Vi co-sleeps 100% since she's in our room, but she only bed-shares about 50% of the time. She likes her own space, but I bring her into bed to nurse at night and usually if she's fussing I'll bring her into our bed as well and let her sleep with us.

Not any more. I started putting him back in his crib after he nurses during the night once he became mobile. He will roll or crawl off the edge during the night otherwise. Now he doesn't even seem interested in sleeping in the bed with me anymore. I prefer my kids in their own room so I'm glad that it was easy to transition him to sleeping in his crib for the whole night.

We co-sleep 100% (Livi's crib is in our bedroom) and probably bedshare 50%. Livi will start the night out in her crib and usually wakes up around 1-2 am to eat, so then I nurse her in bed and we just go back to sleep.
