It came on so quickly too. Wednesday during the day they were fine and by 5 when Cohen woke up from his nap he had the nastiest cough....then by 8 Kellan was throwing up. At 10, Cohen threw up. Both were running high fevers. No throwing up overnight thankfully. The next morn Cohen sounded so awful we were SO close to taking him into the ER (my fil was already at the house to watch Kellan), but he must have coughed up whatever was making his breathing congestied because by 7:30 he was sounding much better. I was still sick at this point, but thought I could handle it so I told my DH to go ahead and go to work. I was going to take Cohen to the doctor when they opened just to be safe. By 9, Kellan was throwing up all over himself all the while Cohen is crying because he felt awful. I wanted to hold them BOTH!
We needed daddy...so I called him and he came home after stopping at the store for supplies and the doc office where he made them both appts. We took them in at 11:15. Both had fevers even with alternating tylenol and motrin. Cohen was 102.5 and Kellan was 101. Turn out they both have/had a stomach bug, Cohen has a sinus infection, and Kellan has a sore throat. My babies!!!! They both got prescriptions for amoxicillin. We gave them their first dose at 1............by 5 I'm calling the on call doc because Kellan was having an allergic reaction to it. He broke out in hives and was itching like crazy. OMGoodness I can't help but feel responsible for all of this even starting. I'm just so thankful it didn't compromise his breathing or cause anymore harmful reactions!!!!
So anways, he started a new rx this morn and they both seem to be doing better! So that's great. I didn't end up taking anything so my cold is still lingering and now I feel dizzy and nauseous, but it's slowly getting better. Hopefully they are both feeling great by this weekend. There is nothing worse than for your babies to be sick!!
