So DD again has the whole cough, runny/stuffy nose, low to mild fever and over fussy. I have taken her to the DR 3 times so far for this and they have always called it croup and given her the steroid shot and all 3 times it doesn't work in any way for her and I'm stuck with a dr bill (just got mine for the last visit and it's $167) I can't afford this anymore but I don't want to look like I'm neglecting her either. I know it's virus and there's nothing for them to do but what can I do? My sp tired of my dr. At the clinic we go to they have 3 pedi and they all suck. So unless I get new insurance I'm stuck with them.

I already do the humidifier, suck her nose and give Tylenol/Motrin when needed.

Luke just got over this and unfortunately.. I don't think there's much else we can do. i took him in to let the doc listen to his lungs but she said that it was just a virus yada yada yada. I think as long as the fever stays low and the cough doesn't get too bad or croupy then just lay low and let her get through it. Sucks though..

There's no way to switch docs?

That sounds like what my girls have been passing back and forth. We've done antibiotics, humidifiers, vicks, you name it and nothing seems to be helping other than time unfortunately. We also go the "it's just a random virus" chat from the PA we saw right before New Year's. Kaija started out 2 weeks before Christmas with just coughing. This past week we've had fevers of 100-104 spiking around dinner time. And then she's totally 100% the next morning but by afternoon it's the same thing again. Now today she's a snot machine... Kolbie seems to be getting better finally though. At least I'm not picking snot off her face constantly.

It sucks. I hate when these sicknesses happen because there really is next to nothing you can do. Cuddles are always good though!

I am so sorry she is sick again. Sounds like you are doing everything, I would watch her fever for a day or so - hopefully things will be better.

Have you tried a chiropractor? There is an adjustment that can be done in the mid/upper back that boosts their immune system! It doesn't hurt them at all and its actually very good for them! I would consider finding one there and at least going in and talking to him/her! I highly recommend them!!! Ben see's one and LOVES it!

Just a thought!

The IHC clinic in Layton. I have select value which doesn't cover most other clinics. I would love to change but doing so I just go to another one of there clinics all of which I'm not a fan of.
