what should I do when Ashlyn is basically refusing to eat?

Ashlyn was introduced to the fabulousness that are Cheerios last week. Of course my dad saw how much she liked them that he went out and got her a bag lol. She's fussing? CHEERIOS! Not letting you eat? CHEERIOS!

Well yesterday she refused to eat anything other than Cheerios or the gerber puffs. She screamed and cried if you gave her anything else. I even tried sweet potato since she LOVES those and she refused. She wanted her cheerios. Finally at around 9 pm she ate 4 baby carrots. She nursed just fine (for longer than usual).

I'm giving her breakfast right now so that's good. Should this happen again what should I do? I would give her them since I figured that it was better than nothing for a baby that's used to eating food but I didn't really feel right about it.

when alexa decides she doesn't want to eat I just say ok and let her play more and will try again later but I wont give her puffs or anything and I tell her fine all you get is a bottle and if she dont want that then I will say fine your gunna be hungry and normally within a few hours she will eat she has gone 2 or 3 days not wanting solids and only wanting "snacks" (puffs and all that) and her bottle so I just let her do that I know she is gettin what she needs from her bottle so it doesn't really bother me

Was the sweet potatoes pureed? If so maybe she is wanting real food instead. My dd was that way. Once she started eating food that she could feed herself - she was done with the pureed stuff.

No I have her pieces of the sweet potato. She just grabbed them and threw it on the ground. If I tried to put one in her mouth then she acted like I was killing her with the screams she let out.

Normally if Vi refuses to eat I just try again later. Usually she'll eat what I give her though so it's not an issue.
