I am considering getting off the minipill. I honestly think it is what is causing some of my AF issues. AF showed up yesterday and she is AWFUL!! I remember I dealt with stuff like this before and we determined that it was the stupid mini-pill. Anyways...

I am seriously considering FAM. I want to learn more about it before stopping the pill. I know that a few of you guys do this. So I am aksing for any advice, tips, websites, classes, etc. We sort of done FAM before I got pregnant with Jaxon, but I know not properly.

TIA!!!

I do the Billings Ovulation Method

BOMA-USA - Home

I went to the NFP board and the ladies were GREAT!! They helped so much with all my questions and gave me links and told me based on what I usually do to chart which plan would be best (which is BOM b/c it involves my CM and CP).

It took a couple days of intense research so I knew everything I needed to know (seriously it's like a college course..there is SO much info)...but I love it.

And in case anyone thinks hunhun2 was an OOPS from doing this method...lol, no, she was def. planned...I didn't want anyone to read this and then say to themselves "Well, it can't be a safe form of bc b/c look, she is 6 months pregnant".

LOL!

Try Taking Charge of Your Fertility, I can't remember who it's by but just google it. I have it and it was great for when we got started with FAM.

Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book. We do FAM when I have regular cycles and it has always worked fine for us. I don't temp or anything though, I just monitor my CM and my cycle.

I've had a lot of friends have bad experiences with the mini-pill.

I do FAM but i don't follow it completely religiously. i temp and follow my CM but temping isn't too accurate since I'm still up a bunch with Luke at night.

we also PIP so not complete fam. But I keep track of when I ovulate etc.

I have also used Taking Charge of your Fertility. I love the software that came with the book. I like having the book because now that I am getting ready to use it again I can just go back and read it again. The message board that went along with all of it was really nice also.

I used to keep track of my temps and cm to avoid, but I also used condoms close to fertile times just in case. I haven't gone back to that yet because of being up so many times at night. I don't do well with hormonal birth control

After I had Kinley, I got a prescription for the mini pill from San Diego (Naval Hosp) then I got home and went to my dr and he said he didn't really trust it. So after having Kinley, we just used condoms and I knew when I was ovulating so we would avoid DTD that time of the month. We did this for 2 years...then when we were ready to have another one, I knew exactly when I was ovulating and when to get pregnant. After I stop nursing Karsyn I"m going on some sort of birth control, we don't want another kid for a while!

Condoms and me don't work well. That is how dd got here... Well I guess they would work if you actually used them instead of leaving them in box.

And the pull and pray - Yeah - DOESN'T work either for me. You ladies that do this - I am in AWE! LOL
