I'm not positive but I'm thinking Addisyn might have croup. I had it when I was young and remember being brought to the hospital in the middle of the night to sleep in an oxygen tent. (that was before they knew to to the cool air mist and then going into the bathroom with hot water steam) So last night she wasn't acting like anything was wrong besides a low grade temp. Well at 1AM she woke up and coughed up a hugh amount of phelm and and a slight plugged nose. So I got the saline out. But her breathing sounded a little rattly so I did the hot bathroom and the cool air, and it really helped. This morning she stayed home with DH cause I wasn't going to have to expose the others and her cough is very very bad sounding. I know there is a little girl at her daycare that had a horrible cough on Monday. of course

There really isn't anything I can do since it's like a cold. But I feel so bad.

It might be the beginning stages of croup, which is basically a cold. Keeping her home was probably a good idea, though the cough can last for a while.

Sorry she's feeling so badly.

Poor thing. Just like Alisha said the cough can stay around for 10-14 days past the cold. It does sound like the start and what your doing is what you should be doing.

Poor girl...how is she feeling now? Aly had croup two months ago..bless her heart. The pedi said that if the coughing gets bad to stick her outside in the cold air for a couple minutes or hold her in front of the freezer and let the cold air hit her..should stop them from coughing.

Vicks and Baby Vicks vapor rub is a girls best-friend..you may want to try it..and put it on her feet with socks!
