This morning L was evaluated on her gross and fine motor skills as well as her speech. I went well, and the ladies evaluating were really kind. They remembered me from last year bringing in my son.

And, L will be having PT or OT (probably PT) 4 times a month to help her out in her gross motor. If you'll remember, L still doesn't really move at all. She doesn't roll or scoot or anything. They want her crawling in 3 months and walking in 6. That seems optimistic to me, but I've seen therapy do some wonderful things. They also wrote goals for speech, but we won't have a therapist in the house for at least 6 months or so on that.

It will probably be a month before we actually get someone in the house to do the therapy. It takes a while to find someone with the appropriate skills AND time to fit in a 4 times a month kid. I'm hoping I like this person as much as I like my son's OT.

Wow that's great if they can get her moving that quickly! Glad you got some good news and that the evaluators were pleasant. Good luck finding a therapist you like!

That is awesome!

I was waiting to hear back about this to decide what I'd do about Livi. She is younger than Lauren, but I think I'll make an appt for her just to see what her Pedi says.

I hope you get a therapist soon!

Laura - I'm big on getting services if kids qualify for them. There's no harm in making sure your kid is doing alright, and if they do need help, better to get it early than late. Livi's probably fine, but I think you should ask her pedi. She doesn't have a well child until 12 months in Canada, right?

Thanks everyone! I'm glad I'm not the one who has to find the person. And I almost wish I could just use Marcus' but I'm afraid he'd get really confused if she came to "play" with Lauren and not him when she's been around him since 7 months old.

Hopefully they can get you a good one pretty quickly! I can definitely see your point about using the same one. I'm sure your son would really wonder about that.
