Well we are doing good with the nursing...mainly. She weaned herself from the nipple shield....will only use it at night. But now, while she eats shes antsy...like moving around, unlatching etc...

What could be the problem...anyone?

Lyra goes through that too. Although she doesn't fuss or cry. She just sort of unlatches and then moves, then wants to latch again. Not sure why.

Austin does the same thing as Lyra. He doesn't really get upset and cry, but he'll unlatch, turn his head different ways and pop off then want to latch back on, wiggle and squirm like crazy. It gets a little annoying, but I haven't figured out why he does it or how to stop him.

Yes, we have that problem too. It's getting to the time when other things seem more interesting to them than nursing. I usually try burping them and going to a quieter place with less distractions. I've heard of some people who buy nursing beads (hung around moms neck) that the baby can hold during nursing to keep their focus inward (and keep those little hands away from their face and mouths which causes more distraction).

I was going to say the same thing Sarah said. Our babies are getting to the point where they wake up and want to see the world. Unfortunately that happens a lot more while feeding so they will pop on and off. Jace has been doing that a lot more recently. He will pop on and off and sometimes starts looking at me and smiles. Silly boy!!

Ari has been doing the same, I thought he was trying to wean himself. I'm going to try wearing a necklace next time he eats.

I made my nursing necklace...got leather string and some wood beads with a round bead with a hole in the middle...put the string through the holed one, and then put 2 beads coming up from it. she likes it, but sometimes it just doesn't work LOL

I think they're just interested in the world around them.

My Jojo does that too - and we're bottle-fed. She is so super squirmy!!! It's everything I can do to keep that dang bottle in her mouth as she's flinging her head from side to side. I'll have to try that nursing necklace too - great suggestion.
