We can't find shoes we like for Kali anywhere! Maybe we are just being super picky but it's hard. We are currently trying to find some cute flip flops for summer, other sandals to go with her spring dresses, and a pair of hard soled shoes. I haven't bought her a single pair of shoes yet because people gifted us some but she is about to outgrow them all. Kali is a size 4.

Where do you get LO's shoes. What size are they wearing these days?

Do shoes really almost always cost $25-$30

Elizabeth is in a 2 but they are getting small so I need to get her some 3's. I will get her 1pr of each brown, black and white mary janes and 2pr teenishshoes 1 for good one for play. I may get a pr of crocs instead of 2 ts's but we will see. I have bought all her shoes used so I don't pay over $5.00

I agree with Cathy, that used shoes are pretty good. At this age, they grow out of them so quickly that the shoes are never that worn looking. Noah currently has a pair of stretchy soft soled tennis shoes but I hate them because they fall off all the time. And then he has a nice pair of brown and black shoes and then a pair of Khaki tennis shoes. I refuse to buy tie, they are all velcro. I will get Noah some sandals too. I have bought some of mine new at BRU for about 12-15, which isn't too bad. I also noticed that Payless has some cute shoes for pretty cheap, just not a big selection. We also have a carter's store that has some shoes. Noah is in a 3 but will proably be in a 4 by the end of summer.

Walker is in 5's, I buy his at Academy, Stride Rite & Nordstrom. I'm picky about shoes, so I tend to spen a bit more than others. It seems much harder to find boys stuff

I have this same problem. We have mostly hand-me-down shoes but Ryan is in size 5 and the hand-me-downs are a little more beat up at this size...
I have been getting some summer shoes at target, kohls, payless or walmart. I look for big sales or clearance deals. I will definitely be getting some crocs for summer!

Alyssa is still in a 2. She has tons of shoes as I am shoe LOVER!
For hard soles, I found cute pink glitter -chuck wanna be's, as DH calls them- for 10 bucks at Walmart! I truly believe it was those that helped her balance to walk because once she wore them is when she really started to walk better. I like them alot because they have that rubber on the toe and since she does still crawl sometimes they don't get messed up. She had some pink canvas shoes that she destroyed in a week because she dragged the front part on the ground while crawling!
She also has cute sandals from Target and some I found at Kmart.
I also found her cute boots and maryjanes from Kohls on sale around 12-16 dollars a pair.
Of all of her shoes I don't think we have spent more than 16 dollars a pair.
I have yet to find her any cute flip flops but because I have been looking for some that have the strap around the foot as well so they don't come off.
If you are looking for a name brand, have you checked out Marshalls? They always have cute DC's, Etnies and Roxy shoes, at least the one's here for kids. I am all about cool and cute shoes for my kids but try to keep the cost low since they outgrow them so quick! With my son we bought almost all his skate shoes at Marshall's for around 16 bucks a pair. However the Nike's he just got were 40 and I freaked but he needed good running shoes because he complained of his feet hurting and all the kid does is run! LOL!
Anyways, I recommend trying to find deals with shoes since at this age they grow way too fast!

Orion is wearing a 5. The only pairs of shoes he has are from Stride Rite....I will NOT pay 40 bucks for shoes, so we go to the outlet and get last seasons for under 10. He loves them and they seem to work best for him....he is already running!

I think we're definitely being too picky. There's tons of cute stuff I see even on the gymboree website but how would I match most of those sandals with outfits lol. we don't have much money so when we buy shoes we try to make them work for a large variety of outfits.

Kali was gifted a pair of crocs but they are size 5. They are definitely cute on kids, but we are flip flop people lol. I did find one cute pair (zebra and pink) at osh kosh. but we want more plain stuff lol.

That's what i'm noticing too.... anything handed down at this point would probably be too beat up and that's why no one has given us any....

I can't believe some people still have babies in size 2!!! My poor bigfoot baby will never fit in a glass slipper

I knew you'd give me some input. I can't imagine how many types of shoes Alyssa must own. I've seen the glitter shoes from walmart but DH and I are so plain. We are trying to find shoes exactly like that but minus the glitter so they can be worn with much more outfits. They make converse and vans but they are $25-$30 that's too much for something she will grow out of fast. We haven't checked marshalls yet but I'll check it out. It's hard to get time to shop with work

I think good shoes are important so my boys have Robeeze and Stride Rite. One pair for each size since we don't have a lot of money either. I have boys so it's easy - they just wear gym shoes with everything.
I don't think I would ever buy my boys flip flops. Aaron refused to wear the sandals I bought him past year.

LOL Nancy! I can't help my love of shoes!!! It's an addiction!
I have seen some Converse before at Marshall's but it's rare. When I do see them there they are usually printed with characters or something on them but not plain colors. I have seen some cute white DC's that were plain except for a dark pink DC on the side.
Have you checked out Target for the Converse as well? They have the All-Star converse which are identical to the Chucks minus the circle logo on the side of the shoe. We get my son's Converse there when we see sales. Last time I think we got him some for 18.99.
Here I found them online!
Toddler Girls' Converse One Star Oxford Pink : Target
flip flops - you can't check online if they have in store but at the Target here they carry a ton of flip flops on the back wall of the shoe section and I have seen lots of toddler sizes.
toddler flip flops : Target Search Results

I know these aren't flip flops but they are cute sandals that she could wear with just about anything! I am trying to find them in size 2 here.
Circo Aloma Sandal White : Target

Okay I will stop now! I am going to get the urge to want to start shoe shopping if I don't stop! Let me know if you find anything for her!!!

Thanks Rhonda! The allstars are great and I had been checking them out but I was trying to find shoes before our trip next friday and Kali won't fit into a 5 yet. she's almost a 4 and maybe could be a 4.5 but even that might be a bit big.

as for the bottom pair, that was EXACTLY what I've been trying to find for all her little dresses!!!!! I checked online and they have them at our local target so we're going tonight! Thank you so much for your help they are even the perfect price for our wallets. =0 )

Rhonda, Ashlynn has the same shoes!

Ashlynn is in a size 3 or 4, depending on the shoe..and I spend maybe $10 max on a pair for her.
She has 1 pair of boots (a gift), 1 pair of white sneakers (Also a gift) and her sparkly pink shoes that I bought her.
I want to get her sandals soon..but I'll probably just get a plain old white pair.
Otherwise it's a pain to match shoes! Pink sandals don't go with a purple outfit, or a green one, etc.
White goes with EVERYTHING!

DD wears a size 5.5 right now...we actually got them at Payless. Her previous shoes were from Walmart...Wee Walkers I think. They are more to keep her feet warm...she can walk in them but she doesn't really ever wear them around the house to walk.

We only have a few pairs that he can wear this year. Most are larger ones I get on deep sales.

The ones from this year are Jumping Beans flex soles. Just plain little brown shoes. They were like $9 on kohls.com after 30% off. He HATES them. They are a size 4 and too small. The only size 5 I have are sandals from target last year (navy blue strappy ones) so I may have to get him some to hold him over if it doesn't warm up soon.

My kids have one pair of sneakers each (Skechers for both) and one pair of sandals in the summer (brown leather for ds, white leather for dd) and random flip flops. Shoes are a waste, they grow out of them so fast! My oldest son's Skechers were $59. I could have died. But we got them a size bigger, so he should get a full 1.5yrs out of them!

Try Carter's. Love their stuff.

I was going to suggest Marshall's too...if you can find her size in anything. The ones here are touch and go with sizes. Also The Children's Place has some really cute sandals. I love Stride Rite too, and Aven seems to not mind wearing hers all day. She has a silver pair of Mary Jane's that were 40.00...I didn't want to spend that much but I really liked them and wanted something really comfy she could begin to walk in. All this shoe talk has me wanting to do some shopping! :-)

Funny you posted this. I've been shopping EVERYWHERE to find Jenna shoes I like. Most shoes I've bought her are more pricey than I'd hope...but I have to like them and feel like they are good quality.

I've had good luck with Zappos so far. I also love See Kai Run, but wasnt crazy about their sandle selection. Here are some links to sandles and shoes I've just bought. She wears a 4-5.

Born Kids Little Flower (Infant/Toddler) Walnut - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways

Stride Rite Butterscotch (Infant/Toddler) White - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways

See Kai Run Kids Kai (Infant/Toddler) Pink/Brown/Red - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways

I also bought her some jellies from Children's Place for $8. A lot of stores have them...Target and Gap do for sure, under $10. Children's Place had the ones that fit Jenna the best and looked the most comfy.
