This is really throwing me off! First of all, I never really had a normal period EVER. If I ever got a period! Anyway, I've been getting my period once a month now, and it lasts a GOOD seven days. And heavy. But, the week leading up to my period, my weight is going up like 7-9 pounds, then it starts to come back down when I start. I have never fluctuated this much before. It's just a real motivation killer when I'm trying to lose weight and get on that scale. I guess I should just stay off it period, idk.

Any tips for the weight fluctuation or ideas on what I can do to regulate it somehow? I'm not on any bc, because we are trying/gonna be trying again soon. I guess I feel out of my element, because I never had heavy periods, never dealt with weight fluctuations, and never had cramps. Now, it's all like magnified a million times. (okay, I'm exaggerating a little) Now mind you, I didn't ovulate before either, so it wasn't as great as it sounds.

Thanks for letting me vent in here, didn't really wanna post this in the main forum.

AWWW i'm sorry hun that it last so long boooo. but even though i don't get my period any longer (since i dont' have a uterus or cervix) i STILL get the monthly weight gain from ovulating - it's not as much as i would from my period but it still goes up a few lbs and then goes back down. I know it sucks but it's totally normal and it's hormone related. There really isn't much you can do when it's hormones to stop it - just try to remember that your body will adjust and go back down again.

ps i think it's ok and good you posted it in the main forum - i think it's good for even lurkers to see that they arent alone in this - it's a general female thing i think

you're beautiful and amazing try to remember that doesn't change when the number on the scale goes up.

Alethia said it perfectly!

Bloating is *normal* for me before I start my period, so I stay off the scale I'd rather not see. Plus with my mood swings, I think I might have a break down if I see the numbers go up on the scale (even if it IS temporary)!

I don't think there is anything you can do except to train your mind and KNOW that the weight gain is NOT because of anything you could control... its all hormonal and it WILL go back down!
