This is one of Ben's all-time favorite recipes from when he was a kid. I don't like tomatoes, which is why in the picture its only on half of it... but as it turns out the flavor does go well with this and I even like the tomatoes on it, which is a surprise for me. This is definitely not a weight watchers-friendly recipe as it is loaded with deliciousness, haha.
1 pound lean ground beef
1 large onion, chipped (1 cup)
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4oz)
½ cup bisquick
1 cup milk
a couple tomatoes, sliced
Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray.
In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in salt. Spread in pie plate.
In small bowl, stir remaining ingredients with fork or wire whisk until blended. Pour into pie plate.
Bake about 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
5. Top with cheese and sliced tomatoes, bake until cheese is melted.
