I let Brendan play with a sippy cup with water the last few days to try and get him to understand the concept. The few times he managed to suck the water out he did not like it. He made a gross face and spit it out.
i haven't given Victoria water. I figured she gets enough in BM. i'm sorry ur mom is stressing u out... my mom so far has completely laid off... but mind u i was BF for 1 year without any solids, NOTHING!. I know at first she was a bit ur gonna start solids? really? even though Victoria's pedi is the same guy i had which told her the same thing but my mom didn't listen! hehehe although for me i didn't listen either since i always wanted to start at 6 months gradually... i started a bit earlier but just to see the kids reaction... at that point i couldn't say no since she just loved the rice cereal!
For now personally i'm not interested in giving water since i want her to get as much of my milk as possible. so if i get to my BF goal of 1 year then i can start on the water.
Do what you feel would be best...
Thank you Jaidynsmum for my Beautiful Siggy!

I give (just like I was told with AJ) just a little water in a sippy with her solids. I don't let her drink a lot though (I never put more than 2 oz in and don't let her drink it all). I also have begun putting her BM or formula in a sippy sometimes. (I have the Nuby transitional sippy).
