This is a great question. I have to do two overnight shifts this weekend and I will run into the same problem. I'm usually not hungry but I will grab a pepsi and candy to help me stay awake. But this weekend I won't be able too so I have no idea what to do.

There is a chapter in the back of the book that talks about shiftwork. The general ideas is you don't want to eat your fruits or whatever right before bed because you won't have enough time to burn off the carbs/sugars. I think its based off 8 hours. So just avoid eating those things 8 hours before you sleep.
