What do you listen to in the car, and has it changed since you've had your LO?
Moms with older kids, do you let them listen to pop radio? How do you feel about them hearing the sometimes suggestive and derogatory language?
I thought of this today when Kylie was singing along in the back seat, "la la la", and I realized Britney was singing (Er, auto tuning) "I wanna go all the way..." Obviously Kylie can't understand the lyrics, but it got me thinking that at some point, I need may need to choose a new station.
Although, here are many songs that I used to sing along to as a kid, and obviously had no clue what they meant. I hear them now and I like, "Whoa! I never knew this song was dirty!"
I listen to a broad spectrum - Top hits, 80s, 90s, talk radio, etc. We haven't changed what we listen to that much, but sometimes I put the Kids Place XM station on for Jace and I will turn the station if a rap song with heavy cussing comes on...
I listen to EVERYTHING!!!!! If I have my Ipod on in the car, there is a big variety of music that plays since I keep it on shuffle.
Gabby is particularly fond of "Party Rockers in the house tonight!!!!!" at the moment. It cracks me up when she tries to say "Everyday I'm shufflin'." Also, out of nowhere, she started singing "What's My Name" by Rihanna.
I'm very diverse when it come to music so we listen from classical, jazz, rock, alternative, Indie, Soul, House to Yo Gabba Gabba and sid the science tunes.
I did buy a bunch of ROCKABYE BABY CD's. They are so boring and so far my son hasn't shown any interest.
My kids are growing up listening to heavy metal mostly since that's DH's choice and I don't usually care to change it. Perrin actually sings along to some of it which is cute and disturbing at the same time.
It's funny that both of them have used Jeff's music to go to sleep though. Perrin used to as a baby, and now Archer naps with it on.
I usually make playlists on my phone: kids, workout, baby. Depending on my mood. Workout is usually top 10 on iTunes, baby is baby Einstein stuff, kids is bieber, Gomez, and radio Disney stuff.
I also listen to AOL radio a lot.
