If anyone has this toy please please be careful and keep an eye on your LO while they are playing with it! M has gotten the (circle) block thing stuck in his mouth twice now (i didnt know there were two of them). It was terribly scary!

Amazon.com: Toysmith Battat Sort and Stack Toy: Toys & Games

Okay i just looked at the warning and of course it says not for under 3 years old (in one part of the ad, 18 months in another part), MIL gave this to him (opened) so i didnt know that... ugh, well... still be careful!

My nieces have that (4 and 6) and I don't let Kerrington play with it for the small parts.

How scary! Jed has a toy like that - I guess I need to put it up for a bit. It is not the same brand.

Almost all of Amazon's listings say not for children under 3 years. They're just covering their own butts. However it's always best to judge these things based on your child. For example, I'm sure there are children over 3 that like to put things in their mouth and it still would be dangerous. It's best to err on the side of caution. Of course you don't know if your child will put it in their mouth until you're panicking and pulling it out of their mouth. If only these kids came with billboards that displayed their intent constantly!!!

Thank you for my beautiful siggy, *Kiliki*!Visit My Blog

My question is, would a kid over 3 really be that interested in that toy? But that's not the point... We have a couple of toys like that but the pieces are pretty big. I'm with Amy overall though, you do have to kind of judge your kid in relation to the toy to decide what is appropriate. It would be scary to find something like that stuck in my baby's mouth, that's for sure!!

yeah he has another one like it (i think that one is fisher price) where the "blocks" are much bigger, so i just gave it to him without really thinking about it i guess but these are pretty small - the circle one is probably only a little bigger then a quarter around
