Just wanted to tell you girls that even though I haven't been around much lately, I try to pop over once in a while...that just hasn't been happening much these days. I haven't forgotten about you ladies and I miss you all terribly!
As you all know, it's been about a month now since I started my new job at my new school and I am LOVING it!!! Honestly, so far everything has gone very well and this week was our parent-teacher meet and greet type thing at the school and from what we heard, the new Principal and I both made great impressions on the parents and people from the community, so I can sort of breathe a small sigh of relief now that all that stuff is over. BUT with a crazy active toddler and some crazy active teens X 26 all day long plus all of my new responsibilities plus teaching, planning and grading...well needless to say I don't have much free time. But I absolutely love it, it energizes me in a strange way because I really have found my passion for teaching fire up again and it's a wonderful feeling to be doing something I love PLUS being able to come home to the family I love even more. I have to say, I'm tired, but in a good way, and I'm totally on .
I hope you ladies have all been doing well! I hope to be able to catch up a bit again now that things will hopefully start settling in at work. I need to stalk some of our new babies for sure!!! They are all soooo gorgeous!!! Did I mention Marc and I both have total baby fever again too?...but for now I'll try to just keep up with all of your newborns instead.
Glad you are loving your new job!! Thats the way a job should be!

That's wonderful about your new job! Just a curiousity...do you have to be the vice-principal and teach? Our administrators do not teach at all, they just do administrator duties. In our state it is a completely separate certification that you have to gain to be an administrator. And, our school is pretty good sized, so we have one head principal and 4 vice-principals! I can't imagine teaching, planning, grading, and all the administrator stuff! You must be one busy lady!
Laura- yes, I teach 90% and have 10% admin...but obviously, I spend way more than 10% of my time doing admin work...it's impossible for me to accomplish all of my admin work in only 3 x 45 min periods in a week! I have 3 preps, 3 admin periods and I teach 23 periods in the week. So I'm at school around 7:45am and have almost a full hour to get ready for the day before the students come in, I use my breaks to check and answer emails and I usually stay at school an hour or two after the kids are gone to prep for the next day. Somewhere in there I find the time to answer other teachers questions or address their concerns, organize our fundraisers for my class trip (we'll be going to Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto with my class in June...lots to do for that too!) and keep in contact with parents, etc. Our school only has 204 students, so we only get 1.1 administrators (depends on the size of the school) so the principal gets a full-time position and I get the remaining 0.1 as admin time, so basically next to nothing. BUT I do still get the full pay, so I won't complain. Andthe Principal is exceptionally organized also and we make a great team, so luckily he's on top of things and doesn't give me much added work. He plans all of our meatings, writes every memo that we send home, calls our supply teachers, evaluates the teachers performance, etc. But yes, I'm definitely way busier than I have ever been! But I also really enjoy my work and I honestly feel right at home in my new school and hope to stay here for a long while! I think things will start settling down soon now that we've started fundraising and have finished with all of our parent teacher meetings and our meetings with the parent commitee, etc...Marc and I are planning to take a little time to get away in a few weeks when the long weekend rolls around...we need to take some time for ourselves and relax a bit!
